🚨Breaking news! 🗞️A new Science|Business article features insights from Adel El Gammal, EERA’s Secretary General, who joins other organisations in calling for the EU’s upcoming Framework Programme 10 (FP10) to 🤝support the development of new technologies and cross-border collaboration. Advancing low-carbon technologies remains critical to achieving 🌍climate neutrality goals and strengthening 📈competitiveness. Adel emphasised that while disruptive innovation is key to advancing the green transition, the EU must also 🔎specialise: 💬“The EU is unlikely to build industrial leadership on all technologies and should instead focus on a [smaller] set of critical technologies”, he said. 📌Significant investment in collaborative research is essential to promote industrial cooperation, accelerate the scaling of clean technologies, and create collective spillover effects for climate solutions. ✍️Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/e6r2Xm36

📰In a new Forbes article, Nils Røkke, EERA’s Vice-President, reflects on the outcomes of COP29 in Baku. 🌍For Nils, the latest climate summit, focused primarily on climate finance, serves as a call to action and a reminder of the challenges ahead. Given the fragmented outcome of COP29, which raised doubts about the credibility of the entire process, Nils highlights that COP30 will need to 🤝rebuild trust. To achieve this, he argues that leaders must move beyond promises and 🚀 deliver tangible actions that demonstrate shared responsibility, ultimately ensuring that all nations are ⚖️held accountable for their contributions to and their role in addressing climate change. ✍️Read Nils’ full opinion piece here: https://lnkd.in/egXwkxSM
