It is with pride (and great excitement🔥) that I would like to share that a PACCT for sustainability white paper describing the opportunities that Product-as-a-Service (#PaaS) models bring to sustainable business development, which I am pleased to co-author, was published yesterday. The white paper describes: 👉 key aspects of building or transforming a manufacturing business within the #PaaS model 👉 opportunities that PaaS offer in the context of building a sustainable economy and developing a resilient businesses contributing to the transition to a circular economy 👉 EU regulations in which PaaS is emerging - Green Deal, Taxonomy and #ESG reporting in line with #ESRS standards 👉 challenges and solutions for financing and leveraging data and digitization in scaling PaaS, 👉 business cases from the world of successfully operating companies in the PaaS space. And finally, 👉 the expert opinions and recommendations we make to regulators, institutions and business to immediately pave the way for transformation towards servitization and circular economy models, whereby business development can take place away from the exaggerated use of natural resources, minimizing energy consumption and monetizing usership and services rather than ownership. The white paper was the culmination of several months of work by a team led by Francois Johnston as spokesperson of PACCT, in collaboration with Gurvan Guennec, Heloise Aboulker and myself, as well as incredibly experienced experts from the Scientific Advisory Board of PACCT. It has been an extraordinary experience to work on the report and conduct the research. I am extremely grateful and would like to sincerely thank: - Francois Johnston for inviting me to join the PACCT for sustainability team and sharing his knowledge on the subject, - Iain McKechnie, who gave me almost mentoring support at the beginning of this journey and connected me with Francois, - the experts Ann-Charlotte Mellquist and Dimitris Karamitsos, who shared their knowledge and experience in preparing financial issues regarding #PaaS - to PaaS experts and practitioners Tomas Zimmermann, Taco de Boer, Samuel Allison, Slawomir Huss, Joel Rolfe who donated their time and shared their practice of financing the PaaS models and the challenges and solutions involved. I feel privileged to have worked with you on this report and to be part of the PACCT for sustainability community, which is actively working to transform the economy towards #circularity and to support business on the road to servitization. The link to download the white paper is in the post below.

At 𝗟𝗢𝗖𝗔𝗟 𝗚𝗼𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗡 we focus on accelerating the 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (#CET) of European municipalities. Especially those that, due to their small size and remote location, face the greatest barriers in their commitment to #sustainability. 🌱 🎯 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 are key players in providing the commitment and innovation needed to address and solve many of the environmental challenges we face. That is why today we want to focus our attention on the 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 (EGC) for cities over 100.000 habitants and the 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗳 (EGL) for smaller cities as of 20.000 habitants. The awards recognise and reward local action towards a transition to a greener, more sustainable future. ♻ Both, Green Capital and Green Leaf, recognises progress in protecting biodiversity and green spaces in cities. Renewable energies and building renovation are also taken into account. All these issues are also addressed in the priority areas of the LOCAL GoGREEN project, which you can visit on our website: 👉 https://lnkd.in/diMeZyS6 We congratulate the winners for being a great example for the rest of European cities and municipalities ‼ Click here to see the winners of this year's Awards! 🥇 https://lnkd.in/eH8_3iNQ 📹 https://lnkd.in/ddq-WKjW #cinea_eu #lifeprogramme #cleanenergytransition #climateaction #euprojects #energytransition #collaborationforimpact #localgogreen #eugreendeal #cleanenergy CINEA - European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency

Fascinated by the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), I was privileged to join the 5th cohort of the SDGs Advocate Programme (SDGs-AP), embarking on a journey dedicated to fostering positive change. Our inaugural masterclass session proved to be both enlightening and inspiring, as it delved into the significance of sustainable development goals and the critical role of clean energy. Here's a glimpse into the enriching dialogue that unfolded! Introduction to SDGs: Facilitated by Kayode Ogunleye, our session began with an exploration of the historical evolution of sustainable development, leading to a discussion on the core principles underpinning the SDGs—environmental sustainability, social equity, and economic prosperity. The session emphasized the imperative for collective action in addressing pressing global challenges, despite obstacles such as climate change and resource depletion. It highlighted the potential for innovation, technology, collaboration, and education to capitalize on opportunities for progress. It's a dynamic journey that requires concerted effort from all sectors! Clean and Renewable Energy Discussion: Guided by the insightful Fisayo Adeyemi, our conversation delved into the transformative potential of clean energy. We pondered questions surrounding sustainable global power provision and explored the distinctions between clean and renewable energy sources. The significance of clarifying these terms resonates deeply, influencing both grassroots discussions and high-level policy decisions. It's not merely about energy; it's about charting a path towards a greener, healthier future! 🌱

🔬📑On 20 March 2024, the European Commission adopted Horizon Europe’s 2025-2027 strategic plan during the Research and Innovation Week. The plan outlines the research programme’s main strategic orientations for the next 3️⃣ years, namely accomplishing the green and digital transitions, and building a more resilient, competitive, inclusive, and democratic Europe. 🌱On the green transition, the document underscores that 35% of Horizon’s total budget should be allocated to climate-related topics. 👉Moreover, the European Commission places a strong focus on cross-cutting issues, highlighting the necessity to enhance the inclusion of social science and humanities (SSH) and to better balance R&I across all ranges of maturity and technology readiness levels (TRLs).
