The event was an excellent platform for collaboration, networking, and spotlighting cutting-edge advancements driving Europe’s electrification goals. Williams and Eric recently participated in the Battery Innovation Days conference in Barcelona. They heard from political, industrial, and academic leaders in the European battery industry working to accelerate research and innovation in batteries in Europe and beyond. 🔋 MEAtec at Battery Innovation Days 2024 & BEPA Brokerage Event 🌍 On November 26-27,  MEAtec had the privilege to participate in the Battery Innovation Days 2024 in Barcelona and the BEPA Brokerage Event on November 28. These platforms brought together over 1,500 innovators, researchers, and policymakers to discuss the future of Europe’s battery value chain. During the events, diverse and thought-provoking discussions took place, exploring topics like: 🔋 AI-powered Battery Management Systems for enhanced performance ⚡ Fast-charging solutions to accelerate EV adoption ♻️ Battery passports for traceability and sustainability 🌱 Green solvents and circular processes in battery recycling 🔬 Battery digital twins for predictive maintenance and optimization Amidst the challenges in scaling battery production, one message stood out: collaboration is the key to a competitive and sustainable European battery sector. As Johan Blondelle from the European Commission noted, “Going fast together is the motto of the European battery value chain.” A proud moment for MEAtec was seeing our CEO & Founder, Mehmet Emre Aslakci, presented the “AI-Powered Battery Management System” pitch during the Start-Ups session at the event, where MEAtec was selected as the most innovative start-up in Europe, and his insights showcased how AI can drive innovation in battery performance and safety, reflecting our commitment to cutting-edge solutions. It was also great hearing from incredible speakers like Ilka von Dalwigk, Dr. Franz Geyer, Fabrice Stassin, Michael Lippert, and many others who shared their expertise and vision for advancing Europe’s battery sector. These events, co-organized by Batteries Europe, BATTERY 2030+, BEPA - Batteries European Partnership Association and Government of Catalonia through ACCIÓ, provided unparalleled opportunities for networking and collaboration. #TBT #ICYMI 🌍🔋A little overview of FREE4LIB's participation at the Battery Innovation Days (BID) 2024 in Barcelona, on 26-27 November: ➡️ IREC - Institut de Recerca en Energia de Catalunya and Eurecat - Technology Centre hosted a stand that attracted over 50 visitors, highlighting the #BATTECH initiative. ➡️ Eurecat presented on the use of Natural Deep Eutectic Solvents for the leaching of Lithium-Ion Battery Cathodes, building on their work as part of FREE4LIB. ➡️ Engaging discussions with industry leaders, researchers, and representatives from the European Commission. 🙌 Massive thanks to our partners Eurecat - Technology Centre, IREC - Institut de Recerca en Energia de Catalunya and NextMove for showcasing the work undertaken by the FREE4LIB project to enhance recycling and reuse of End-of-life Li-Ion batteries. ♻️🔋 🤝 And a big thank you to BEPA - Batteries European Partnership Association, BATTERY 2030+ and Batteries Europe for organizing this fantastic event! We are inviting contributions to a European Commission survey on zero-emission heavy-duty vehicles (ZE-HDVs), conducted by the Joint Research Centre (JRC) on behalf of DG CLIMA.
