A Change in the Board Of Management Thomas Bogus will take over from Volker Germann as the new Managing Director from 16th September. Over the last five years, Volker and the Brussels site have led the way in the transition to e-mobility for the Audi Group. During his time, Volker has pioneered a strong environmental and social commitment, taking our Mission:Zero programme to the next level. He has championed key areas such as water recycling in the paint shop, our own photovoltaic power plant and BattMAN, our own battery recycling software. Throughout his time, Volker has invested his passion and dedication into multiple facets of inclusion, championing greater diversity and pluralism in business. His advocacy for better work protection rights of employees with cancer saw him deliver a speech at the European Parliament for the launch of the European Cancer Community Foundation. We would like to sincerely thank Volker for his service and commitment to our factory and people over the last years and wish him all the best for his next chapter.

Empowering e-mobility
About us
Located in the heart of Europe, with over 3000 employees and more than 500.000 m2 of site footprint, Audi Brussels is a key production site within the Audi Group. Since 2018, Audi Brussels produces only 100% all-electric cars in the world’s first carbon-neutral high-volume production facility in the premium segment. Now, the brand new Audi Q8 e-tron and the Audi Q8 Sportback e-tron, the four Rings’ flagship electric SUVs, are manufactured in the Brussels plant. Our factory is at the forefront of the company's efforts to drive progress in sustainable mobility. On our way into the future of mobility, we can rely on more than 70 years of experience from our proud tradition in car production. With this pioneering spirit in our DNA, we work in a wide variety of roles: be it assembling the car, manufacturing the battery in our own battery assembly, maintaining our high-tech installations and robots or assuring our premium quality. We deeply appreciate the dedication and expertise of our employees, who work together to ensure that every Audi electric car that leaves our factory meets the highest standards of quality and performance. In appreciation of their commitment, we are dedicated to creating a workplace that values pluralism, the interaction of different ways of thinking, capabilities, cultural imprints, experiences and competences. At Audi Brussels, we live diversity. Having 39 different nationalities and four languages that are spoken every single day, we have a cosmopolitan mindset embracing cultural differences. This open mentality and flexibility welds us together and makes us a team.

Diversity within one's own career - Meet Nihale Today, we are introducing you to our IT project leader for in-house development: Nihale Saba. She started at Audi Brussels in 2016 as an intern in the IT department. During her internship, she worked on online monitoring applications for tracking vehicles’ status in production. In 2017, she joined Audi Brussels as a permanent software engineer, being responsible for electric and electronic topics of EV (electric vehicles) in preparation for the e-tron. After completing a second masters in computer science, she immersed herself in a completely new area: the world of electric cars. Learning everything there is to know through exchange with her colleagues, Nihale has truly become an in-house e-mobility specialist. Embracing motherhood, 2023 marked an important year for her. Once back to Audi Brussels, she started with a new challenge in the IT department as a project manager. She is part of a team of five, ensuring that the quality of the production monitoring software is impeccable. Nihale is a role model for anyone working their way up in a new industry. We are proud to have her in the team. #AudiBrussels #CareerDiversity #EmployeeDevelopment

Audi Brussels once again proves its social commitment We are proud that Audi Brussels participated for the fourth time in the 1.000 km for Kom op tegen Kanker initiative! Our team is dedicated to making a difference in the fight against cancer, and we have taken a creative approach to fund our participation. To cover the entry fees, we launched a clothing sale within our company, among other things. The enthusiasm and support from our employees have been incredible, showing once again the strong community spirit at Audi Brussels. In summary over 400 orders were placed and last week the orders were finally packed. By coming together and contributing to this important cause, we collect every year around 20.000 Euro to donate to Kom Op Tegen Kanker and Télévie for cancer research and patient care. Thank you to everyone who placed an order and supported this initiative. A special thanks goes to Joachim Van Woensel and his team for organizing this initiative once again. Together, we can make a difference!

Audi Brussels reduces again its ecological footprint At Audi Brussels, we are committed to sustainability and minimizing our ecological footprint. Our latest innovative ventilation pilot project with heat pumps in the car assembly building, is a proof to this commitment. Let's highlight some technical aspects of this project. Heat Recovery via a Heat Wheel: This new system captures heat from the air before it leaves the building, reusing it and cutting down on energy use. Reversible Heat Pump: We’ve installed a reversible heat pump that’s more efficient for both heating and cooling. It takes heat from the environment and transfers it to the building, saving energy and costs! Connection to the General District Heating Network: By connecting to the district heating network, we benefit from external heat sources, reducing our reliance on fossil fuels and lowering CO₂ emissions. The result? An innovative installation in that dynamically responds to fluctuating energy prices. This reduces our CO₂ emissions by 120 tons and can save us an impressive 650 MWh annually on our gas bill, what is equal to the yearly consumption of approximately 100 Belgian inhabitants. But it’s not just about energy savings—our cooling function ensures comfortable working conditions for employees, even during hot summers. It’s a win-win for both the environment and our team! A big thank you goes to our project leader, Pieter D'haeseleer, and also Emmanuel Aresu for their hard work and dedication in making this project a success.

Moving Forward with VUB Racing We are delighted that VUB Racing and Audi Brussels came together at the STEM Event in Halle. In joint forces, we are helping to introduce a diverse and dynamic group of young pupils to the world of car manufacturing. Their competence and commitment are admirable, they bring a special added value through their hands-on mentality and their fresh ideas. We are sure that they can inspire many young people to dive into automotive technology! #AudiBrussels #Innovation #Q8etron #welivediversity
Inspiring the youth with Audi Brussels! At VUB Racing, we see education and innovation as the keys to a brighter future. Together, we're breaking new ground, sharing our knowledge in sustainable technologies to inspire the next generation of engineering talents. 👩🏭🛠️ Recently, we had the opportunity to participate in the ‘Moving Forward’ project organised in Halle. This project challenged 120 students, coming from different backgrounds, to build their own gocart through the power of technology and sustainability. During the school year these students have worked hard on both their theoretical knowledge and practical skills. But there’s more to building a gocart than just the technical aspects. At our workshop they could unleash their creativity by designing remarkable liveries, like Audi Brussels did for our breathtaking Zephyr. 🏎️🏁 STEM events spark the curiosity of young minds, inviting them to dive into a world where creativity and hands-on learning meet. These budding engineers are stepping into a space where motors turn, batteries charge, and ideas come to life. We hope to shape dreams and forge connections that will drive progress for years to come. We're happy to do this with Audi Brussels, inspiring the generation of the future with our common goals! 🌱💚 #futuremobility #youngtalent #formulastudent #vorsprungdurchtechnik
