Workshop on Green Employment in the Transport Sector On the 1st of December 2024, a Workshop on Identifying the Challenges and Opportunities of Green Employment in the Transport Sector was organized by Aspire to Innovate (a2i) and ActionAid Bangladesh at Krishibid Institution Bangladesh-KIB, Dhaka. Key stakeholders, including policymakers, MFIs, EV entrepreneurs, workshop owners, lithium battery assemblers, and academicians, gathered to explore solutions for fostering green employment. Highlights: - Syed Ishtiaque Ahmed, Director of Engineering & Innovation at SOLshare Ltd., emphasized the need for specialized courses in green transportation to build a skilled workforce. - a2i acknowledged SOLshare’s IoT-based platform, connecting EV owners, garages, financers, and battery assemblers to create a collaborative green transport ecosystem. - Participants recommended a PPP model to develop internationally recognized employment standards and scalable policies.
