Last Thursday, 12 dedicated members of PHD Sydney, alongside Yfoundations' Sam Woods, took a powerful stand against youth homelessness by sleeping outside the OMG Eveleigh office. Together, this incredible group has raised over $6,000 to support the cause. Everyone deserves a safe place to call home, and PHD is proud to partner with Yfoundations in their mission to end youth homelessness. Through our combined efforts, we aim to spark an essential conversation about creating a national plan to turn this vision into reality. National Head of Digital Gemma Dawkins said, "We talk a lot about purpose in this industry and I can’t think of something that brings more purpose to our days than to work towards a future where every young person in Australia has a safe space to sleep." The funds raised from the sleepout will empower Yfoundations to continue their essential work, including advocacy, support services, and community initiatives that make a meaningful difference in the lives of at-risk youth. In the past year, over 38,000 youth aged 15–24 approached homelessness services alone. This Thursday, PHD members are taking action by sleeping outside to shed light on the youth homelessness crisis. All funds raised will be directed to Yfoundations, an organisation working to end youth homelessness. Every donation or share with your network helps us create a significant difference! Only 2 days to go until PHDers sleep out on Thursday to raise awareness of youth homelessness and the issues that face over 40,000 young people each year. Our fundraising page is below if you would like to show your support https://lnkd.in/gaJ2hzZC
Last week, PHD Australia took a meaningful step forward as we briefed our first Sydney Charity Committee Pro Bono campaign, championing Youth Homelessness Matters Day alongside our incredible charity partners, UnLtd. and Yfoundations. We were honored to hear from a very special guest who shared his lived experience, reminding us why this work is so critical. Last year, nearly 40,000 children and young people sought help from homelessness services. We are committed to building a future where every young person has a safe place to call home, and we’re excited to work together as an industry to make this a reality. With over 50 of our amazing media partners joining us for the briefing, we're looking forward to launching this national campaign in February 2025. To kick-start the initiative and in solidarity with young people experiencing homelessness, PHDers will be sleeping outside the Sydney office on November 21. This small gesture aims to spark awareness and support for Youth Homelessness Matters Day and Yfoundations. If you would like to help us raise funds for this cause, please consider sharing our fundraising page. Every share and donation count toward creating safer futures for young Australians! Launching this year’s upfronts, Seven Network hosted the event in the iconic setting of South Eveleigh’s Sunrise and Morning Show studio. Boo Gelardi, PHD’s Group Trading Director, highlighted the network's vision of strengthening connections – between brands, content, and consumers. She said, "The most significant shift in the entertainment space is a move to a '7Plus first approach', driving the Network’s agenda to compete with ad funded SVOD platforms. Utilising a 'bonfires' (premium library) and 'fireworks' (first run exclusives) strategy designed to maximize high value audiences, one premium international first run show per month will be released. It’s an interesting approach and significant investment will be required to properly market the content, attract new audiences and compete with the likes of Netflix, Stan and Disney+ etc." Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/gHAnKCjg #PHDIntelligenceConnected

At the recent Upfront event in Sydney's Town Hall, Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) Australia showcased an exciting array of dramas, documentaries, culinary delights, and First Nations stories, all set to enrich our screens next year. The FIFA-focused sports offering adds another layer of anticipation for viewers. Mikeah Irving, PHD's Senior Investment Manager, highlighted SBS's leadership in premium content, sustainability, and diverse broadcasting. "SBS also touched on updates to the research they’ve called, The Premium Effect, targeting the valuable 40+ demographic, encouraging brands to reconsider how SBS can drive reach and efficiency beyond the standard buying demo of P25-54. OMG’s Diverse business arm also encourages clients to think outside the norms when it comes to audience targeting, to ensure we can reach a more premium, diverse and nuanced audience that better reflects the Australian population," said Irving.
