The traditional creative agency model is dying. Here’s 5 ways we put clients at the centre of everything we do. 1. Our #1 focus is on solving the client’s business problems with creative solutions. (Sometimes the brief *is* to win awards, but let’s be real. Mostly, they want to grow their brand’s share.) 2. Conversion isn’t a dirty word—neither is awareness. Clients need both. Most agencies focus on one or the other at the expense of what’s best for the client. Sellout believes integration in commerce is table stakes. 3. Not everyone can do everything. And there’s a first for everything. Many agencies folks are afraid to ask for help or guidance in cutthroat cultures. But in a culture of trust, it’s ok for someone to learn a new skill from an expert. Even if that means bringing in an outside consultant for some training. We believe in expertise. 4. No big egos. Advertising is a business. Our creative work is in service of a client. Not our own egos. 5. We do what we say we’re going to do. This one speaks for itself.

This comes up with clients all the time - the need to be perfect and do everything 100% completely and correctly on the very first try. Particularly for the overachievers (you know who you are): 1. It's still progress to take just one step in the right direction. That's better than the immobilisation of doing nothing due to the fear of not getting it right. One small step in the right direction each day eventually gets you to your destination. 2. It's not failure if a step doesn't go as planned. It's a lesson learnt.
