Windows gets better and better and for Systems Integrators, the opportunity to help customers define productivity and workspace strategies, adopt new apps and enable a mobile workforce was enhanced by the launch of Windows 8.1 and new devices (such as Surface, Dell Venue). Dilignet helped so many customer adopt and embrace cloud apps through a deployment of Windows 8.1.
(Hint: that's why we were recognised as Mobility and Devices partner of the year for two successive years!) -
Skype Translator? I was there at the start!

The biggest blocker to learning technology skills in emerging economies is not typically the technology; It's the inability to speak English. In 2005 and 2006 I was privileged to lead a project in Africa translating Windows into 6 African languages - Afrikaans, isiZulu, isiXhosa, Swahili, Sesotho and Setswana.

It was humbling and rewarding to be part of the project that brought low-cost computing to Africa, when even desktop PCs were over US$500, power was a constant problem and connectivity sparse and unreliable.
