💸 Federal Budget 💸 In this year’s federal budget, approximately $2.5 billion was allocated to ICT initiatives, significantly funding various projects including NDIS Quality and the myGov platform.   Key areas include: 💠 MyGov Platform: $630 million over four years, with $145 million annually from 2027. 💠 Digital ID System: $288 million over four years, totaling over $1 billion since 2015. 💠 Public Sector: Reins in outsourcing by internalizing 8,700 roles. 💠 Future Made in Australia Package: $22.7 billion for technologies like clean energy hydrogen and quantum computing.   Furthermore, additional funding areas include: 〰  Infrastructure: $40 million for First Nations digital inclusion. 〰  Health: $174.5 million for Aged Care ICT infrastructure. 〰  Attorney-General: $161.3 million for the National Firearms Register. 〰  Climate Change, Energy, Environment, and Water: $96.6 million for environmental data improvements. 〰 Defence: $165.7 million for the Australian Defence Industry Development Grant program. 〰 Education: $34.6 million for online learning services. 〰 Employment: $68.6 million for Workforce Australia Online.   These specific investments focus on improving and securing ICT systems, promoting new technologies, and strengthening public sector capabilities.   One of the 2024-25 budget’s cost-savings elements is $1 billion worth of cuts to external labour hire, consultants and contractors. It is a small part of the government’s ambitions to save a total of $77.4 billion in the next financial year.
