Hiring; Senior Software Engineering roles – TypeScript, Golang, GraphQL, gRPC, GCP - $150-180k + super + options – Hybrid three days a week from the office in Sydney. tekFinder have a range of new roles for a lean, high-performance engineering team of 20 for a global digital healthcare product business with over 100,000 active customers. They work at pace, so expectations are high. The engineering team is senior-heavy, and we want to continue that trend, so there’s no time for hand-holding. Their GraphQL layer is in TypeScript. Front End is TypeScript/React, and microservices can be either TypeScript (Node) or Golang. They have circa 40-50 microservices in production. The bulk of the backend is in Node, but a big trend is moving to Golang. When a new microservice needs to be built, engineers can choose between Golang or TypeScript. For this reason, if you’re an engineer who doesn’t know typescript or Golang, it will be hard to get a job here. We’re happy to speak to specialists, so if you’re more inclined towards the backend or front end, there will be a place for you on the team. They are in the process of migrating some of the old monoliths to the new platform, which will require a significant amount of work over the next couple of years. Some other technical challenges are related to launching into new markets and ensuring that their platform can support increased traffic as they scale and grow. Sounds interesting? Well the consensus is that there is a more positive vibe out there in the IAM Market, In my Poll last week I asked the question, Within the IAM Space are you seeing more positive vibes, 60% said they were. I appreciate is still not 100% and there is still negativity out there, but lets be positive and look on the bright side if the majority are seeing reasons to be cheerful then hopefully this will start to filter through to the rest of the market #summerbreeze #identityaccessmanangement

“Recruiters are wankers who ghost candidates…” Well, that might be true for some recruiters, but I’d be very disappointed to hear that the same could be said of me, or any of the team at MCG Talent. If I/we are working with you (and by working, I mean I’ve physically engaged with you about a specific opportunity, and are representing you in the market place), then ghosting is NEVER an excuse. I often tell candidates to message me directly once I’ve contacted them. They have my mobile number and WhatsApp, and can message me at any time to ask for an update. Given my busy schedule, it’s all but impossible to keep people updated every step of the process, but I have no issue in somebody dropping me a message to ask for that important update, in which they will get a timely response by me. Remember that recruiters are recipients of ghosting as well. Just this week, we received an offer at over the expected salary figure for a particular candidate who had indicated that they would accept should our client offer them a role. After delivering the offer… guess what? Ghosted! Thankfully, these fools are rare, but they do exist. In 2024 there is very little excuse for ghosting anybody. Honesty really is the best policy, and if you’ve decided against opportunity, perhaps been counteroffered (basically used this offer to better what you have), or just decided to go in another direction, why not discuss and share that with the recruiter has helped you get so far. What comes around, goes around. So let’s try hard to keep an open dialogue of communication from all sides shall we? 👊🏼🙏🏼 Thoughts? #recruiters #ghosted #candidates #offers

👋Hi Australians, We need to talk about your performance… …Australia is at a turning point where performance and ROI per employee are under the microscope for every hire and restructure. Despite what many think, flexible work actually did exist before COVID, it’s just that the pandemic forced us to finally adopt it properly. We proved it DOES work, but something’s missing in a lot of workplaces: #accountability, #KPIs, #trust, #teamwork, and #performancemanagement. 👆Without these, both your WFH or RTO policy is doomed to fail. 💡Employers: Get these right, or productivity will suffer. 💡Employees: Master them, or your success will be limited. It looks like WFH-Hybrid alone isn’t a silver bullet either - it’s not efficient re productivity.
