About us
Women continue to face a multitude of barriers in the workplace, which are often compounded with prejudices such as racism, ableism, and ageism. These inequities are more than just a moral issue; holding back over half the world’s population is negatively impacting us all, including businesses. The WORK180 team is dedicated to removing these barriers, and we do this by focusing on our mission: To give every woman the power of informed choice when making career decisions. We shine a spotlight on workplace policies, benefits and initiatives, so that all women can make more informed decisions about where they choose to work *by women, we mean all who identify and/or experience oppression as a woman (including cis, trans, intersex, non-binary or gender non-conforming individuals).

Back in 1982, a whopping 43% of fathers admitted they’d never changed a diaper. In recent years, that number went down to about 3%. Millennial dads are breaking traditional parenting molds, taking on roles like regular night shifts with newborns and actively participating in school meetings at higher rates than previous generations. According to the Pew Research Center, millennial fathers spend three times more hours on childcare than dads did in 1965. A 2016 Pew study also revealed that 57% of millennial dads view parenthood as a core part of their identity, just one percentage point shy of mothers at 58%. When fatherhood is deeply ingrained in their sense of self, dads naturally invest more time and effort into raising their children. #fatherhood #genderequity

School holidays hit women hardest—and it’s a gender equity issue. Primary carers, 88% of whom are women, face tough choices: take leave or pay for costly childcare, impacting careers and widening the gender pay gap. Service Stream, with KidsCo, tackled this challenge by offering on-site school holiday programs. The impact? 72% of carers avoided disruptions. Women gained 3.5 productive hours daily. 88% felt more committed to staying. This initiative isn’t just family-friendly—it’s a powerful step toward gender equity. WORK180 Endorsed Employer, nbn® Australia, hosted WORK180's last in-person DEI Knowledge Share for 2024. The event fostered a welcoming and open environment for discussing challenges, sharing initiatives, and exploring ideas, providing attendees with actionable steps toward advancing gender equity and First Nations representation. There were 62 people in attendance, representing 30 unique businesses and organizations who are all wanting to impact meaningful change in their workforce. A standout moment was the keynote by NBN’s guest speaker, Keven Allan, whose authenticity and commitment to diversity and inclusion resonated deeply. Keven emphasized the importance of communicating a strong “why” throughout an organization, especially to those on the ground, and shared inspiring insights into achieving significant targets for women and First Nations representation in field services traineeships. We thank our DEI Account Manager, Belinda Yorston for representing WORK180 and helping make this event a reality. We also would like to thank Diane Samaroo, Milena Branconaro and Lei Iglesia. We are excited to bring to life more events in 2025 and hope to see you in your city!

"AirTrunk has given over 330 employees a one off A$65,000 bonus each, totaling approximately A$22 million (in addition to existing incentive programs) in recognition of their contribution towards the success of AirTrunk so far - the culmination of many years of hard work and sacrifice from our team." - Airtrunk "The bonus is one of many examples of how we recognise our people and empower them to reach greater heights." In October, AirTrunk made headlines after flying its workers to Bali for an all-staff conference.
