About us
UXCamp is Melbourne (and Australia's) only community based unconference event for UX and design professionals and enthusiasts. We had another sell out event in 2024. We follow the Bar Camp format, a low-cost, collaborative event, where attendees (yes, you!) of all levels are encouraged to prepare either a talk, a case study, a book review, a workshop idea or a group discussion. Anyone can pitch and the agenda is made after a big vote on the day. Over a dozen sessions take place, with up to 4 sessions taking place concurrently in break-out rooms. Ultimately, the day's format and speakers will depend on who comes, what you pitch and what you decide.

UXCamp Naarm | Melbourne reposted this
So, I had my first UXCamp Naarm | Melbourne last week. ✨ As a recent grad, I’ve been feeling the pressure of how tough the UX industry can be. Ngl, I’ve been rethinking my whole life every single morning. Like, is UX really the right path for me? 😓 But after attending UXCamp, I think I finally have my answer. I spent the whole day interacting with people in the world I’ve been trying my best to break into. I could easily write a 5,000-word essay about all the knowledge I gained, but more than that, it was heartwarming to see the passion and dedication of each UX professional I met. A huge shoutout to the incredible speakers I had the privilege of listening to: ✨ Elaine Tan, Brandon Di Bartolo, Tom Mansfield, 👩🏻💻 Tiffany Pun, Rebecca Devasagayam, Julia Yeskova, Fabio Liberatore, my mentor - Sean Brown, and everyone I connected with throughout the day. Hearing your stories was a genuine pleasure, thank you for your insights and advice, they were carefully noted and will accompany me on my next journey. A big thank you to the organizers of UXCamp for putting this amazing event together. Seeing how passionate, supportive, and inspiring the people in the industry are has confirmed that they are exactly the kind of professionals I want to become. It was such an amazing experience, and I’ll be back for the next one!

UXCamp Naarm | Melbourne reposted this
Holy heck, how did this even happen!? I had the privilege of presenting as the locknote speaker at UXCamp Naarm | Melbourne last Friday! Somehow my little pitch about content and UX (mixed with a good dose of manga references and slam poetry) got the most audience votes, and I ended up on the big stage! Really thankful to all the organisers (Lauren Jones and Simone Chaitra for the best pep talks, Mickey Rummery, 👩🏻💻 Tiffany Pun, Mindy Nam, Joshua Holmes) and sponsors (Askable, Design Outlook, Intopia) for giving me the opportunity to speak about the importance of content in UX to such a welcoming crowd. Also big shout-outs to the best hype team (Samantha Mathews, Tom O., Stacey Le) and the other great speakers I had the pleasure of hearing - keynote Elaine Tan (I swear I did not steal your slide template), Troy King, David Bacon, Matt Jensen, Tom Mansfield and Tiff. Very keen to run this back next year - on what topic though, we shall see...! 👀
