How long does it take to produce a video? An ideal timeframe is 4 to 6 weeks - but if you have a deadline, we work back from that. [Deadlines for corporate videos matter; we’ve never let a client down. Go ahead, challenge us! ] Assuming there's no urgent deadline, here's a breakdown of each video production step: 🟠 Allow a week for us to write the first draft of your script - and another week for your review and our fine-tuning. [A heads up: I've seen this drag on for many weeks when multiple stakeholders are slow to provide feedback.] 🟠 Most videos need between one and three days of filming. 🟠 Editing takes about a week until the first version is ready for review. 🟠 The fine-tuning stage will depend on the number of team members who review the video, how long they take to give feedback, and the number of review cycles. [Our Sound Images guarantee is no limit to the number of revision rounds.] 🟠 Once your video has been approved, allow a few more days for the creation of all the formats and video sizes you need for each platform. That’s the general timeline. But every project is different, and sometimes, things move faster or slower. The key takeaway? 🧡 Communication is everything. Keep the feedback flowing, and we’ll keep the project moving.

Chatting with clients, most hate that first step of writing a video script. Blank page paralysis sets in. Even if you're an experienced writer, video scripts are a specialty. Unlike a blog or a brochure, a video script has to sound natural when spoken, flowing from one point to the next - without sounding like a list of bullet points. 🧡 The good news? You don't have to write a script. We take that load off your shoulders. Just empty your head and leave the video script-writing to us. You know your message; we know how to craft it into a story that speaks to your audience. 🧡 Focus on your business—we’ll take care of the words. Need help getting started? What's the first thing you should do after downloading your corporate, marketing or recruitment video from your production company? RENAME it to include a keyword phrase your target audience might use to search for what you offer. Do this before you upload it anywhere. 🟠 Here are some examples: 📂 Australian-beef-marketing-stanbroke.mp4 📂 on-site-refuelling-services-australia.mp4 📂 technology-consulting-services-decoda.mp4 📂 qld-farming-advocacy-agforce.mp4 📂 magnesia-production-solutions-qld.mp4 📂 doctor-and-nurse-recruitment-rfds-qld.mp4 🟠 Why bother? Search engines can’t watch videos, but they can read file names. When you rename your video to include a keyword phrase your audience might use, you tell search engines exactly what your content is about. This boosts your video’s visibility, making it more likely to appear in relevant searches. And helps your targeted audience find and watch your video.

Hands down, nothing hooks a job seeker’s attention faster than this. Your team, shining in a recruitment video, pulling in the talent you need. 🧡 They're your best ambassadors By sharing their experiences and what it’s really like to work with you, they make your company stand out. It's authentic, it's relatable, and it’s exactly what today’s job seekers need to see. This is how you build trust and inspire confidence in your company’s culture. 🧡 The result? More applications from people who already feel like they belong.

How do we choose what to cherry-pick from a long video interview? What 'hero' grabs do we use, and what do we leave out? For me, it helps that I've been selecting interview grabs for many years, so I can quickly spot the keepers that will work best within the video structure. 🟠 But it's often a struggle for our clients when they want to choose the interview grabs themselves. Especially when there are so many minutes of great content to choose from - and you only need two or three sentences. 🟠 Here's me waving my arms and yelling - 'do more with what you already have!!!' These full interviews are untapped gold. Waiting to be repurposed into standalone interviews to support your main video. 🟠 I see so much great interview content being wasted or forgotten. And it's a shame when just a few hours of editing and polishing could give you another video to add to your marketing or training assets. So think bigger than one video. Make your video footage earn its keep. 🟠 P.S. Make sure your video production company keeps all your usable video footage on file for 'later.' We have a client still re-purposing footage filmed eight years ago into multiple marketing and training videos over the years. That's smart.

Watch carefully as the drone pauses to 'give way' to a passing flock of birds. The pink galahs fly into shot - and the drone stops tracking forward. This isn't the drone pilot putting on the brakes - it's the drone itself. It sensed an object in its path and stopped to avoid a collision. How clever is that! 🧡 Special thanks to the galahs for adding a touch of magic to this drone aerial, filmed in Bugaldie, NSW. "How on earth has Kath had time to do other projects with all my demands?!" Our MD, Tony's reply to our client.... "We lock her in the edit suite and slide pizza under her door..." The real answer is that our editor, Kathryn, is a master of multitasking - and she manages the pressure of video editing, deadlines and changes with a smile - and an incredible ability to stay cool under pressure. 🍕 Fuelled by the occasional slice of pizza... P.S. At Sound Images, we translate what’s in your head into a video production you love. With a script to screen service that includes our secret weapon - unlimited fine-tuning to polish your video until it shines. We’re your go-to for all corporate video production, including brand, marketing, recruitment, induction and training videos. Is video on your radar? When drones were choppers, this is the only way we could film aerials. Original co-founder Richard [the ponytail] was our cameraman then and he was totally fearless. Scary fearless... 🚁 Floating in the sky in the chopper bubble, the door would be open and Richard would lean out as far as his seatbelt would let him. 🚁 With the buffeting wind, I don't know how he managed to hang on to the camera - and broadcast cameras were way more expensive in those days. 🚁 We started the business on a rural property, so when we had aerials to film, the chopper would pick him up and then drop him back in front of our studio. How cool is that! Today, drones have changed aerial filming completely, making this once expensive option totally affordable for every video production. But there's something about those early days that will always feel more adventurous. 😊

Mirror: "You look amazing today." Camera: "Nope, you don't" 🟠 How can the face and body we see in the mirror everyday look so different in our photos? > A mirror reflection is actually more accurate because there's no distortion caused by lenses, lighting, or camera settings. > Except of course, that what you see in a mirror is a reversed image, as if you're looking at yourself flipped from left to right. 🟠 Now to that photo you hate. Why do you look 'different?' > Cameras sometimes compress depth, flattening the image and making everything seem wider or bulkier. This effect is especially noticeable when the background is close to the subject. > The closer you are to the camera, the more your body or face may appear distorted. Being too close can cause parts of your body to look larger, particularly your face, shoulders, or upper body, which can make you look wider. 👏 👏 👏 So next time the camera’s harsh, remember—the mirror’s cheering you on!
