Although Australia is in the midst of a mental health crisis, research has found that 70% of people with depression are not receiving the minimally adequate treatment they need. Our client Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPi) spoke to Insight Plus to discuss the complex issue, with President Sahra O'Doherty explaining that a lack of access to mental health professionals in rural areas, the prohibitive cost of seeking treatment, and long wait lists are all playing a part in preventing Australians from accessing professional help. To ensure people get the help they need, AAPi is calling for an increase in the Medicare rebate for mental health treatment and has previously advocated for an increase in the number of Medicare subsidised therapy sessions overall. Public relations that works: pure and simple.
About us
Pure Public Relations offers public relations services to small and medium-sized businesses, charities and industry bodies that don’t put limitations on their potential — because they don’t. Winner of CommsCon's 2023 Media Relations Campaign of the Year, and Highly Commended PRIME Award for Media Relations. Pure Public Relations is a boutique PR firm that provides proactive media relations and issues management along with other communications services such as speech writing, profile building, customer case studies, online credibility, internal communication, copywriting, stakeholder relations, and reputation management. “There aren’t many PR firms that only offer their services to small and medium-sized businesses, charities and not-for-profits. It requires a customised approach, agility, and an understanding of the unique constraints that these organisations face. “We believe that the size of a business or not-for-profit organisation should not determine the quality of advice, service, and results it receives. However, we continually see these organisations not being able to access the expertise that big budgets could. So we focus on outcomes, not outputs – it’s pure and simple,” said Phoebe Netto, founder and Managing Director, Pure Public Relations. Clients include professional services, charities, health professionals, consulting firms, not-for-profits, retailers and education providers. We understand small business, because we are one. And we understand charities and not-for-profits thanks to our experience as volunteers and our regular pro bono work for charities.

Last week, Indian company YesMadam sparked global outrage with a viral stunt that claimed they fired 100 employees via email for being “stressed” at work. While the company later stated the stunt aimed to raise awareness about workplace wellbeing, audiences have widely condemned it as ‘disgusting’ and ‘distasteful.’ In this article for News Corp Australia's news.com.au, Karlie Cremin, CEO of Dynamic Leadership Programs Australia (DLPA), explains how the stunt trivialised the serious wellbeing challenges employees face. She highlights that in a world where workplace mental health issues are already undervalued compared to physical health, stunts like this only harm the conversation further. We've pulled out all the stops for the last edition of Pure Pulse for 2024. We explain why your pitching needs to change over the holiday season and the simple (yet frustratingly common) way that you might be alienating potential customers. Plus, a question for you to ponder over the break: can someone truly ‘own’ an aesthetic or is it fair game to copy the ‘vibe’ of someone’s content? Learn all this and more in this week’s edition below. #PublicRelations #PRTips #ContentMarketing #EmailMarketing

We were proud to see our client, Occupational Therapy Australia (OTA) featured in The Australian last week, providing critical insights into the workforce challenges surrounding NDIS eligibility assessments. Thousands of Australians living with disabilities have been asked to prove their eligibility for the scheme within 28 days, leading OTA to raise concerns about the mounting pressure on occupational therapists who are already being stretched to their limits. Michelle Oliver, OTA's Chief Occupational Therapist, says this influx of reassessments is creating significant workforce and ethical challenges for overstretched OTs, who are left grappling with uncertainty about what the future holds for their profession in the new year. You can read OTA's full response to this important issue in the article below https://lnkd.in/gTHGHdT4 #PublicRelations #Newsjacking #NDIS #OccupationalTherapy #PRTips

We often highlight the remarkable media coverage that our client Berry Street achieves, but today we want to show how Pure Impact has helped this independent child and family services organisation drive measurable change for so many vulnerable people. Faced with a state-wide foster carer shortage, Berry Street's goal was to increase foster care enquiries, attract donations, and bring greater awareness to the challenges faced by vulnerable children and families. To do this, the Pure team collaborated closely with Berry Street, speaking with foster carers, frontline workers, educators, and victim-survivors to craft messaging that truly resonated and inspired action amongst audiences. Using the insights, data and perspectives from these conversations, we elevated Berry Street’s voice to the national conversation. As a result, we’ve helped inspire donations and strengthened internal cohesion across Berry Street's diverse operations. Berry Street also received a number of foster care enquiries in response to several pieces of media coverage throughout the campaign. This partnership is a powerful example of how meaningful PR can create tangible outcomes that make a difference.
