Property Council SA has long called for the removal of uncertainty for developers in order to address supply challenges in South Australia. The reality is uncertainty creates risks and this is showing in the results of our recent survey. The new Procore Technologies and Property Council of Australia industry survey found forward work sentiment from South Australian companies dropped by almost 40 index points to 16.6 points – well below the historical state average of 34.2 points. Last Friday we had our annual Christmas lunch at the iconic Adelaide Oval. It was a festive afternoon full of jingling and mingling. We were in wicket good company with Jess Adamson as our MC and comedian Anthony “Lehmo” Lehman had us in stitches. The Retirement Villages (Miscellaneous) Amendment Bill 2024 has finally passed both houses of the South Australian parliament this week. The Student Accommodation Council's first-ever half-day conference focusing on the student accommodation sector is underway in Melbourne today. We have been blown away by the response from so many industry leaders coming together to discuss the future of purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) in Australia. 🌍🏠 The first three sessions provided a deep dive into critical issues shaping the sector: 1️⃣ The State of the Sector – Our expert panel Anouk Darling, John Huber, Michael Wesley, Phil Honeywood and moderated by Torie Brown, unpacked the impact of student visa caps, housing shortages, and economic realities.
