The City of Parramatta is excited to be embarking on a Comprehensive Heritage Review exploring the places, themes and items that are significant both locally and to our nation’s story as a whole! The wide-ranging scope of this project will unfold over the next six years and includes recognition of archaeological sites and First Nations heritage. Parramatta’s community, cultural and civic hub PHIVE received a Highly Commended award in the World Green Buildings Asia Pacific Awards in India for its sustainable architecture. PHIVE was selected as one of three finalists in the Leadership in Sustainable Design and Performance Award – Institutional Projects category. PHIVE is a state-of-the-art, 6-star green star rated building in the heart of Parramatta Square, boasting a range of sustainable features including: - Smart mixed-mode ventilation that adjusts airflow using real-time weather data - Rooftop solar array to provide on-site renewable energy - Electric heat pumps to provide building heating and hot water - Water harvesting systems to reduce environmental impact - Zero-carbon emissions from day one, thanks to all-electric systems and renewable energy sources. The Asia Pacific Leadership Awards recognise the efforts of pioneers in the green building movement and spotlight the people, organisations and projects leading the charge towards more sustainable and resilient built environments across the region.
