The deadline to provide feedback on proposed reforms to the councillor conduct framework has been extended ➡️ The proposed reforms would make the Model Code of Conduct clearer and simpler, and introduce new pathways to address poor councillor behaviour. These include: ✅ Introducing a peer review process to assess complaints against councillors for misbehaviour. ✅ Making changes to how council meetings are run, including giving mayors more power to expel councillors from meetings for acts of disorder. ✅ Strengthening lobbying guidelines for local government. ✅ Banning private councillor briefing sessions, except in limited circumstances. Councils, the community and stakeholders can now submit feedback until 29 November 📅 To learn more and provide feedback go to https://ow.ly/BCHp50U7A5O 👈
