About us
KindiCare is a unique two-sided marketplace platform specifically developed for the early childhood education and care market. Our aim is to make the journey into early childhood education and care simpler, easier and more engaging for millions of parents and guardians; whilst at the same time making the process more efficient and effortless for the thousands of childcare providers who want to ensure most of their time is focused on improving the lives and educational outcomes of the children in their care. KindiCare exists because of the real-world problems and issues our family faced on our search for early childhood education and care. When we looked at the problems more deeply, we realised that those issues weren’t one sided, and that childcare providers also had their own challenges in engaging with parents and guardians. It takes both sides of the market to improve the experience. That’s why KindiCare developed an integrated solution to support both sides of the marketplace: the KindiCare App for Parents and Guardians and the KindiCare CRM for childcare providers. KindiCare is equally committed in delivering innovation and solutions that provide a fantastic customer experience for parents and guardians while making the lives of childcare operators and educators easier so they can spend more time with the children in their care.

It's great to see the Productivity Commission's final inquiry report into early childhood education and care (ECEC) being released to the public. This report officially supports a move towards universal ECEC, with a vision that all children will have access to at least 30 hours per week (or three days) of high-quality ECEC by 2036. For now, affordability is a priority, and the report says the Australian government should raise the maximum rate of the Child Care Subsidy to 100% of the hourly rate cap for families earning up to $80,000 per annum. It's also recommending a 100% rate for families on up to $140,000 who are getting the Higher Child Care Subsidy. KindiCare’s Founder and Chief Executive, Benjamin Balk, welcomes the recommendations for lower income families, and particularly those with more than one child under five in care. Mr Balk says, “Many people forget that Australia’s birth rate is decreasing, and part of the reason for this is the cost of living in our major capital cities. This puts pressure on people to delay having children, space out when they have children, or decide not to have children at all.” He notes that, “Making changes to the current subsidy rates is far easier for the government to execute than undertaking broader reform of ECEC funding and structure,” and free childcare will certainly ease those cost of living pressures for some families. The report also recommends a removal of the Child Care Subsidy Activity Test for all families, to break down barriers to ECEC entry, and you'll find more detail in the KindiCare article, 'A Path to Universal Childcare.' If so, make sure you check out the Courier-Mail today, because it contains a special report into OSHC in the Sunshine State.
