About us

Karitane have been leaders in parenting services since 1923. Our highly trained, professional multidisciplinary team offer evidenced based services and programs to support, inform and educate families throughout their parenting journey. We offer advice and support in sleep and settling, toddler behaviour, establishing routines, feeding and nutrition and perinatal mood disorders. We operate in NSW through a range of in-centre care facilities in Carramar, Camden, Liverpool and Randwick as well as providing community services across the state. Karitane continues to lead the development of the child and family health and the perinatal mental health workforce offering professional development to healthcare professionals including; nurses, psychologists, nannies, childcare workers and others across Australia. Our leadership in education also includes the delivery of parent-child interaction therapy training (PCIT), family partnership training, toddler workshops, and specialised, tailored workshops on sleep and settling, brain development and toddlers. We are a registered charity supported by the NSW Ministry of Health and the Department of Family & Community Services. In addition to our government funding, much of our work is undertaken thanks to donations from individuals and companies.

  • At Karitane, we are thrilled to see the continued support for early intervention programs, including the extended contracts for Targeted Early Intervention (TEI), set to begin in January 2026. As a provider of specialised early parenting services, we know first-hand the value of stability and continuity in delivering quality services for families in the critical first 2000 days of a child’s life. The extended contracts for TEI provide certainty and create the space for providers to focus on the most important thing: delivering positive outcomes for families. By reducing the strain of frequent contract tendering, this policy decision allows us to invest in workforce planning, professional development, and retention, ensuring our team can provide the best care for the children and families who need it most. We look forward to continuing our work with the NSW Department of Communities and Justice and the Minister for Families, Minister Kate Washington MP, to ensure that families continue to receive the expert care they need and deserve. #Karitane #EarlyParentingSupport #TargetedEarlyIntervention #FamilySupport #NSW #WorkforcePlanning #ChildrenAndFamilies

Our ‘inner child’ came out today as we celebrated Christmas with some wonderful parents and children who have invested so much into their parenting journey in 2025. The face painters were kept busy… perhaps a little too busy with the line up of adults. We loved having Quill from Junkyard Rascals who turned up with a van of junkyard bits. It’s always awesome to see the kid’s creativity come out. Highlights were the kitchen, manikin leg and old phones. Thanks to Krispy Kreme for the donut donation. It’s almost a wrap for #VillageConnect in 2025. Couldn’t be prouder of what we have achieved in maintaining a mindset of flexibility and agility.
