A RIPPAH way to encourage allied health students to pursue rural practice The SWHHS Rural Immersion Placement Program—affectionately known as RIPPAH—aims to immerse allied health students in rural and remote practice. Following its win at the 2023 AH-TRIP Showcase, the program has continued to grow in popularity. Rural Interprofessional Clinical Educator Rohan Ballon has been involved in RIPPAH since its inception and understands its benefits and challenges. “Remote and rural communities understand the benefit of bringing health professionals to the area, and they find ways to help students integrate into life here,” Mr Ballon said. “The students benefit from being immersed in the community, living and experiencing together the inter-professional practice that comes with being in a rural and remote location.” Learn how RIPPAH is shaping the future of rural health care: https://lnkd.in/gHXFAWSt #ruralhealthcare #ruralhealth #HealthcareInnovation #alliedhealth Image credit: Queensland Health
