Guardian securing the 15% ECEC government-funded wage increase for our team members We are really pleased to announce we are seeking to be one of the first employers to join the recently-approved ECEC Multi-Employer Agreement (MEA). This means our amazing team will be able to receive the 15% government-funded Modern Award-based wage increase, staged over 2 years - 10% in December 2024 and 5% in December 2025. We submitted our funding applications to the Government in early November. Our team will be voting on joining the MEA in the first week of January. This vote will allow us to tick the final box required to secure Government approval of our application. The Government have confirmed that the pay increase will be backdated to December 2, 2024. What a fantastic way to kick off 2025! It’s a great time to join us at Guardian. This week, Guardian Blackburn North welcomed special guests Paul Hamer MP, State Member for Box Hill, along with Jodie, a representative from the Department of Education. Their visit was to enable them to learn more about the centre’s inspiring Bush Kinder program. At the start of the year, Blackburn North was fortunate to receive a Bush Kinder Grant, supporting them to plan a quality Bush Kinder program, with books, educational resources, and professional development for the team. Both the team and the children proudly shared Bush Kinder experiences with their guests, showing off the centre’s very own ‘secret garden’. We are thrilled that the passionate Blackburn North team, led by Centre Manager Natalie, got to showcase this incredible program. Natalie says, “Our Bush Kinder program helps children connect and contribute to their learning environment. It teaches them to engage with nature, which has been shown to enhance learning. The setting fosters curiosity, wonder, and confidence, enabling children to ask questions and become involved learners." Thank you to the whole team who made the day such a success. We are so proud of your achievements. Today we honour World Teachers’ Day and celebrate the hugely important role that Teachers play in the lives of each child in their care. We say a massive “THANK YOU!” to each of the wonderful Teachers we have in our Centres. They create magic every day as they introduce children to the wonders of learning. Their genuine passion for teaching is a joy to see. They are the beating heart of our Preschool / Kindergarten program. To our Teachers, we respect, appreciate and celebrate you. We hope you have a fabulous day!

Safety is everyone's business. We believe that there is no greater responsibility than ensuring the safety of children, families, and our team members. Our ‘safety-first’ culture includes having a Safety Champion in each centre. These Safety Champions meet regularly to reflect on ways to improve and promote safety for everyone in their centres. During National Safe Work Month, we are taking extra time to think about how we approach safety each day, what this means for teams, and how we can each contribute to the wellbeing of those we care for. In turn, this ensures that our learning environments inspire children to feel confident, secure and comfortable. If you’d like a role in a place where safety is always the highest priority, come and see what we have available: https://lnkd.in/gus_xdrr
