We're so proud to contribute to the Riyadh Action Agenda, a landmark initiative by Saudi Arabia's UNCCD COP16 Presidency, to mobilise state and non-state actors to collectively deliver lasting solutions to land degradation, desertification and drought – to achieve the 1.5 billion hectare target of land restoration by 2030 to reach land degradation neutrality. Our Harmonisation Initiative launched at the UNCCD COP16 with AFR100, 1t.org, Great Green Wall, Tree Aid and Global Shea Alliance, has contributed to the Riyadh Action Agenda. We've officially launched our Harmonisation Initiative - our strategic programmatic harmonisation approach to land restoration and fighting climate change! Together with our partners, AUDA NEPAD - AFR100, 1t.org, Great Green Wall, Tree Aid and Global Shea Alliance, the Harmonisation Initiative was launched at the UNCCD COP16. The Harmonisation Initiative brings together multiple projects at different phases in their design to complement existing projects in the same agro ecological zones, and to leverage existing efficiencies, structures, governance, funding models and successes to support massive scaling of current efforts. It removes duplication of efforts, streamlines government engagement, ensures equal benefits back to communities from neighbouring efforts and allows for far greater investment into programmes with a reduced risk to investors and funders. This initiative contributes to the ambitions and targets of AFR100, GGW, 1t.org, the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration and Restore Africa. Earlier today, teams from World Vision Kenya, The Green Belt Movement, and Africa Harvest Biotech Foundation International visited Migori County's Agricultural Development Chief Officer, Mr. Keya Madafu Isaac, and County Director for Agriculture, Mr. Billy Nyagaya. Our discussions focused on strengthening collaboration to enhance production, productivity, and post-harvest practices for selected climate-resilient value chains, ultimately improving the livelihoods of smallholder farmers in Migori County. Through the Global EverGreening Alliance’s #RestoreAfrica Programme, we are working closely with government ministries, departments, agencies, and other key stakeholders to: ✅ Identify and develop diversified value chains for crops, livestock, and #agroforestry. ✅ Engage lead farmers, schools, organisations, and local government to advocate for and scale up the adoption of climate-smart regenerative practices. ✅ Support the adoption of climate-smart post-harvest management technologies and practices, integrating indigenous knowledge. ✅ Facilitate capacity building in financial literacy and management. ✅ Link community groups with financial institutions, including Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs), to improve access to financial services. | World Vision Australia | CIFOR-ICRAF | COUNTY GOVERNMENT OF MIGORI | Self Help Africa | State Department for Forestry | #FMNR #PartnershipForImpact #AgricultureTransformation

Meet Tenson Tereshi, a 62-year-old farmer from Chingelo Cooperative of Chitambo district in Zambia. As part of our Restore Africa: Restoring Landscapes and Livelihoods in Zambia with Salesforce project, he has seen his life change for the better! Through our implementing partner Community Markets for Conservation the programme is promoting the growing of Gliricidia Sepium trees. Planting Gliricidia has helped farmers like Tenson Tereshi significantly improve his yield and food security. "Before Gliricidia, I used to harvest only 15 bags of 50 kg maize," he recalled. "But after incorporating Gliricidia into my field, I started harvesting at least 25 bags of 50 kg of maize." This increase in yield has had a huge impact on Tenson's life. "With more maize, I have more money to feed my children and send them to school," he said. Through our Restore Africa programme, small-holder farmers such as Tenson are incorporating innovative approaches to farming, improving their crop yields, enhancing food security at the household level, increasing income, and supporting their families' well-being. #GreenUptoCoolDown #RestoreAfrica #Zambia #Livelihoods #Farming #FoodSecurity #Trees #Salesforce #LandRestoration
