Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) occurs when bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites no longer respond to antimicrobial agents. As a result, antibiotics and other antimicrobial agents become ineffective and infections become difficult or impossible to treat. The World AMR Awareness Week (WAAW) is a global campaign, led by the World Health Organization (WHO) to raise awareness and understanding of AMR and promote best practices to reduce the emergence and spread of drug-resistant infections. This year’s theme, “Educate. Advocate. Act now,” calls on the global community to spread awareness and take concrete action to combat AMR. 🩸 At Microbio, we’re dedicated to advancing diagnostic solutions in the fight against antimicrobial resistance. Join us in raising awareness and supporting targeted solutions like InfectID™-BSI that empower healthcare providers to make informed, effective treatment choices. 👉 Follow our page for more information and resources on AMR throughout the week! #WAAW #AMR #Microbio #InfectIDBSI #AntimicrobialStewardship #GlobalHealth #PublicHealth #ActOnAMR

Terrific to deliver a workshop for West Australian SMEs alongside Shoestring | Digital Manufacturing. The workshop explored cost-effective, low-code steps towards improving #digital adoption and #digital literacy across industry sectors, and heard case studies from the food & beverage sector in WA (supported by Department of Primary Industries & Regional Development) and the defence sector courtesy of the Smart Enough Factory program delivered by DMTC Ltd. Thanks to City of Cockburn and Henderson Alliance for their support in hosting the workshop, and to all of the attendees for their participation. #digitalisation #Industry4

We're excited to share an opportunity, and to share the billing with the Institute for Manufacturing (IfM), University of Cambridge, at this event on 19 November for Western Australian SMEs in - or adjacent to - the defence sector. A great opportunity to hear about digitalisation and learn about two programs with successful track records in helping small and medium sized manufacturers in defence supply chains to take the first steps on their digital transformation journey. Our thanks to the Henderson Alliance and City of Cockburn for hosting the event. Charlotte Morris Rohan Green Seating capacity is limited. https://lnkd.in/guFFdtvu
The Henderson Alliance and City of Cockburn would like to invite you to a Digitilisation Workshop for defence SMEs on 𝐓𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 19 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 2024 run by DMTC Ltd and Shoestring | Digital Manufacturing. At this Workshop you will learn about two programs with successful track records in helping small and medium sized manufacturers digitalise, and get involved in shaping a new program for businesses like yours in the Defence supply chain. The Digital Shoestring approach was developed at Cambridge University, emerging from research to investigate how low-cost, readily available digital technologies can be used to support productivity and sustainability in small and medium-sized manufacturing companies. The project addressed the common concern that many commercial digital manufacturing solutions are overpriced and have been designed for large companies. This led to the development of a Shoestring Unit in Cambridge which has been set up to support the digitalisation of manufacturing SMEs. The Shoestring Unit is working with organisations in the UK and internationally, including in the Food sector in Western Australia, and has developed a range of standard low cost solutions, together with tools to develop further solutions in a systematic way. At the end of the project, participants will be more informed about what valuable data already exists in their facility, how to capture it and how to use it in a meaningful way to support operational decision making. DMTC congratulates the six DMTC Ltd Smart Enough® Factory Community of Practice member companies that were among the 13 awardees in Rounds 3 and 4 of the Victorian Government's Supply Chain Uplift Program recently announced by Natalie Hutchins MP. The SCUP administered by the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions helps to equip companies to become part of the supply chains for Hanwha Defence Australia (HDA) and other major defence businesses. A number of the awardees were first introduced to Hanwha through working with DMTC's Smart Enough Factory program, and the Community of Practice continues to deliver value to the companies beyond the specific digital literacy deliverables of the SEF Program.
