Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) occurs when bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites no longer respond to antimicrobial agents. As a result, antibiotics and other antimicrobial agents become ineffective and infections become difficult or impossible to treat. The World AMR Awareness Week (WAAW) is a global campaign, led by the World Health Organization (WHO) to raise awareness and understanding of AMR and promote best practices to reduce the emergence and spread of drug-resistant infections. This year’s theme, “Educate. Advocate. Terrific to deliver a workshop for West Australian SMEs alongside Shoestring | Digital Manufacturing. The workshop explored cost-effective, low-code steps towards improving #digital adoption and #digital literacy across industry sectors, and heard case studies from the food & beverage sector in WA (supported by Department of Primary Industries & Regional Development) and the defence sector courtesy of the Smart Enough Factory program delivered by DMTC Ltd. DMTC congratulates the six DMTC Ltd Smart Enough® Factory Community of Practice member companies that were among the 13 awardees in Rounds 3 and 4 of the Victorian Government's Supply Chain Uplift Program recently announced by Natalie Hutchins MP. The SCUP administered by the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions helps to equip companies to become part of the supply chains for Hanwha Defence Australia (HDA) and other major defence businesses. A number of the awardees were first introduced to Hanwha through working with DMTC's Smart Enough Factory program, and the Community of Practice continues to deliver value to the companies beyond the specific digital literacy deliverables of the SEF Program.
