Sound the saxophones, because smooth is the most popular FM station in both Sydney and Melbourne. And speaking of those two cities, you can ignore the battle between SCA and ARN, because NOVA Entertainment actually boasts a larger listenership in both. In fact, as chief growth officer Adam Johnson confirms, this has been the most successful year in the radio network’s history. "It’s more than we could have hoped for."

  • "Jase and Lauren run their own race, and put aside really all the commentary that hangs over the Melbourne market" Brendan Taylor, Group Programming Director, NOVA Network. The proof is in the results. Survey 8 reveals that Jase & Lauren are the most listened-to breakfast show in the country, plus securing the #1 spot in both cume and share in Melbourne.   For a show-stopping performance in 2025, your brand needs NOVA.

  • SURVEY SAYS: NOVA Knows Performance   We round out 2024 having drawn more listeners than any other metro network in every survey this year, including Survey 8 where 6.4 million Australians made us their network of choice.   In fact, everywhere you look in Survey 8, our brands are centre stage:   Smooth FM finishes in the #1 FM spot in both Sydney and Melbourne, Nova 100’s Jase & Lauren stretch their lead in FM Breakfast, and Ricki-Lee, Tim & Joel continue as Australia’s designated drivers, to name only a few.   For our full list of bragging rights, see the link in the comments.   If not, here’s the quick version. • May is Crohn's and Colitis Awareness Month, but we are proud to have been able to support @crohnsandcolitisaus during 2024 through our #GoldenGrants Initiative. One of the things that makes NOVA so special is that many of our people are active members of their local communities or are busy raising funds for great causes. At NOVA we think one of the best ways to benefit our communities is to support the causes that are important to our people. The amazing Dave MacCue nominated #CrohnsAndColitisAus to receive a Golden Grant for 2024 and we are only to proud to support such an important organisation. In his own words: " For more than three decades, Crohn’s & Colitis Australia has been empowering more than 100,000 Australian men, women and children living with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis – collectively known as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) – to live fearlessly.   At just 30, my twin's husband underwent a kidney transplant due to complications from Crohn’s disease—an incredibly young age for such a major procedure. His journey has shown me how devastating this illness can be, not only for him but for his family.   With over 100,000 Australians affected by Crohn's and ulcerative colitis, and no cure in sight, many will face severe challenges like this. This Golden Grant will go a long way in funding vital research, raising awareness, and supporting those impacted by these life-altering diseases" If you are keen to work in a team that will support the causes that are important to you, check out our current opportunities! #novajobs #marketleader #goldengrants #communitysupport #flushthestigma https://lnkd.in/gSucCAAh

  • NOVA Entertainment is committed to inspiring a diverse, safe and respectful workplace, which is why we are thrilled we’re continuing our partnership with FW (Future Women) Future Women is an important part of our #GenderDiversity stream which forms part of our #ESG strategy. We’ve had a partnership with Future Women since 2021, and it remains an important partnership for our business.   As a market leader in the All of Audio space, we are invested in supporting the advancement and acceleration of women into leadership positions and/or stretched learning opportunities. Future Women is an opportunity for Nova Entertainment’s female managers/leaders or aspiring leaders to focus on their development, extend their network within the industry and connect with other peers that they would not ordinarily cross paths with within Nova. A BIG congratulations to our 2025 Cohort who presented their application to a panel of industry peers including the inimitable #LaurenPhillips, Peter Colosimo, Amanda Bollans (Cervonaro) and Sarah McGilvray. We are so proud to be able to support your personal and professional development! #FutureWomenNova2025 Lucy Carey Sophie Hornsey Ruby Sims Natalie McNeill Christianne Lovegrove-Jones (née Jones) Rachel Kemp

  • Last month was all about Movember.   NOVA's Mo-Squad – Ben, Liam, and Belle – took the lead in rallying Australians to support men's health. In addition, our very own powerhouse Matt Baseley ran 30km while live on Star 104.5 to raise awareness.   The Ben, Liam & Belle team streamed live on YouTube for 24 hours, keeping viewers entertained with a series of challenges, from covering Belle with pencil moustaches to tasting fiery hot sauces. They also said the word "Movember" over 50,000 times to raise awareness for the cause.   Meanwhile, Matt kept the energy high on air, announcing the time and temperature, teasing upcoming segments, and delivering live reads – all while running 30km. The 30 symbolized the 30% increase in Aussie men dying by suicide in the last decade. A stark reminder of the critical need for mental health support.   It was a powerful month of action, awareness, and advocacy for men’s health, and we couldn't be prouder.

  • Last week, Nova 106.9 marked Susie O’Neill’s final day on Ash, Luttsy & Susie O'Neill, with an unforgettable event – SUSIE O’CHELLA.   A large crowd of loyal listeners, along with special guests like Brisbane Lions Co-Captain Lachie Neale and Brisbane’s Lord Mayor, gathered at Riverside Green by the Brisbane River on a scorching day to bid farewell to the Olympic legend during a live-to-air broadcast.   Susie revealed on air that while she’s stepping down from the breakfast show, she won’t be leaving broadcasting entirely and is working on new opportunities within the Nova network.

  • Huge congratulations to Brooke Blurton, Matty Mills and the Nova Podcasts team for winning the Podcast Champion Award at the 2024 Australian Podcast Awards. As highlighted by our Head of Podcasts, Rachel Corbett, "The award recognises the outstanding ability of their podcast, First Things First, to amplify Indigenous and LGBTQIA+ voices while tackling significant social issues with warmth, energy, and authenticity.   It's been one of our standout shows at NOVA Entertainment since we launched it back in 2022 and it weaves effortlessly through topics like dating, politics, family and identity while also leaning into challenging and uncomfortable conversations around racism and grief.   These voices, stories and perspectives are so important and deserve to be heard on mainstream media, so it's amazing to see the podcast and these two incredible hosts acknowledged in this way."
