A big intersection upgrade is coming to Osborne Park! This project will make the area safer and more accessible, helping Main Street Centre become a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly spot for the community and small businesses. The City has collaborated with Main Roads Western Australia on extensive improvements to the busy intersection of Main, Hutton and Royal streets in a project fully funded through the Government of Western Australia. The works are scheduled to start in late January and take about eight months to complete, with access to the Main Street Centre maintained throughout the project and any necessary road closures carried out at night. This summer, the City and WA Police Force are teaming up to keep Scarborough Beach safe and family-friendly. We'll be working closely with WA Police in the Scarborough entertainment precinct, running joint operations on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. As part of this collaboration, we'll help WA Police in their Operation NightSafe by using the City's advanced network of 80 CCTV cameras to enhance rapid response and evidence-gathering. Over the 2024-25 summer period, you'll also start to see Street Chaplains visit the area on Thursdays and Saturdays night, providing compassionate and practical help, including resources such as first aid equipment and water. Find out more about what's happening at Scarborough Beach this summer by visiting https://lnkd.in/gvUdmGy5
