Did you know that one third of new clothing is destined for landfill? This is where the team at Thread Together come in - working to reduce the amount of clothing waste across the country, by saving brand new clothing that was going to landfill and providing these clothes to people in need. Yesterday, some of the BAC crew were lucky enough to spend the morning volunteering at Thread Together’s HQ, where we learnt all about the amazing work they are doing for our community. As a team, we were able to pack 116 orders of brand new clothing, which was sent out that afternoon to people doing it tough. These packages provide people with dignity and empowerment at a time they need it most, along with playing such an important role in minimising the impact of fast fashion on our planet. BAC are proud to be part of a life-saving community.   Last week, some of our Australian Red Cross Lifeblood Team members participated in a group blood donation at the Town Hall, Sydney centre, in the lead up to National Blood Donors Week this 10th to 16th of June.   In just a short sitting, our Team provided much needed blood donations which will be used for many causes. Some of which include helping people with cancer, various diseases, severe burns, those undertaking heart surgery, or pregnant women – just to name a few.   The delicious milkshakes and snacks provided by the Australian Red Cross Team afterwards were also a bonus!   With three blood donations needed every minute, now is a good as time than ever to donate blood.   For further information, or to give blood, visit www.lifeblood.com.au.
