In early 2020, we launched our Mobile Wardrobe service, bringing clothing directly to communities impacted by natural disasters. Now, with 10 vehicles across Australia, we’re able to deliver clothing to individuals and families who need it most. Access to clothing and the freedom to choose these items is at the heart of what we do – and we’re proud to make this possible. #MobileWardrobe #CommunitySupport #GivingBack #DisasterRelief

Diverting brand new clothes from landfill and giving these to people in need
About us
By working with Australian fashion brands and charities, Thread Together drives social and environmental change. We help those in need by managing fashion excess, distributing surplus clothes to people who are doing it tough - the highest ethical response to this potential waste. Did you know that millions of items of new clothes get dumped into landfill every year? We believe that manufacture to waste without a purpose in between makes no sense. Not when there are so many people that need help. Drive social and environmental change at your next staff volunteering day. More than just a feel-good experience for corporates, our days are designed to increase team productivity, boost cooperation and attract and retain quality staff whilst making a positive impact on the community and environment. Your support will ensure our service continues to respond to need.

Today is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and the start of 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence—a global call to end violence and raise awareness. In Australia, 1 in 4 women have experienced physical and/or sexual violence from an intimate partner since the age of 15. Thread Together assists women and children escaping domestic violence by providing them with immediate access to brand new clothing via our wardrobe and capsule service. This service offers brand-new sleepwear, underwear, socks, and loungewear, as soon as they arrive at a shelter, bringing comfort and dignity when it’s needed most. 💜 We are very grateful to receiving funding for our wardrobe and capsule service from a number of partners including Goodman, PAYCE Foundation, Commonwealth Bank, Afterpay, Pillow Talk Australia, DISSH, James Frizelle and Collie Foundation. #EndViolenceAgainstWomen #ImmediateSupport #WardrobeAndCapsuleService #CommunityCare

We’re incredibly grateful for the ongoing support and generosity of DISSH. Your contributions make a real difference in the lives of those we serve, bringing hope and support where it’s needed most 💙
DISSH x Thread Together Since October 2021, DISSH has been a proud partner of Thread Together, an Australian non-profit organisation, driving social and environmental change that matters. Last financial year we proudly contributed $200,000 and donated over $70,000 in clothing. This donation enabled Thread Together to install 20 wardrobes in women’s refuges across the country. Ensuring that women and children arriving at shelters can access the essentials they need immediately. These wardrobes are more than clothing —they represent a new beginning for women rebuilding their lives after enduring unimaginable hardships. The new garments from these wardrobes empower these women with dignity and confidence for the next chapter of their lives. Our partnership is a testament of what is possible when we come together to help make a difference.
