“Since 2015, total Antarctic sea ice area has dramatically declined,” said lead author Zac Espinosa. “State-of-the-art forecasting methods for sea ice generally struggle to produce reliable forecasts at such long leads. 

Christopher Kenseth, a NSF AGS Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Atmospheric and Climate Science, was selected as the recipient of the 2024 Sheldon K. Friedlander Award by the American Association for Aerosol Research (AAAR), which “recognizes an outstanding dissertation by an individual who has earned a doctoral degree.”
Chris received his PhD in Chemistry from the California Institute of Technology in 2022 with Profs.
