Overview:
Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a HPC System Administrator to support the IT program at a major national laboratory.
Responsibilities:
Monitor the state of the HPC clusters and storage using software utilities, shell scripts, and command line interfaces.
Troubleshoot and identify failed hardware, implement parts replacement through the RMA process, and work with HPC SME’s to resolve system failures.
Work with HPC team and vendors in the delivery and deployment of clusters and storage systems including SNL shipping and receiving.
Rack and cable servers and storage systems using HPC SME’s diagrams and spreadsheets.
Actively seek opportunities to broaden and deepen your knowledge base and proficiencies.
Build your professional development through mentorship partners and informal training.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in related field or 6 years of relevant experience.
In lieu of a degree, additional relevant experience may be applicable.

Citizenship is required per contract to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance.
Experience as a Linux System Administrator doing all activities such as installation, system integration, image development, patching, upgrades, and complex problem resolution.
Demonstrated experience in hardware systems analysis to determine system requirements, define system design (integrating hardware and software requirements), develop system architectures, and assess functionality and performance systems.
Experience in racking and cabling of computer equipment.
Desired:
Foundational knowledge of IT infrastructure areas such as networking.
Ability to apply critical thinking skills and apply detailed data into useful information such as documentation and developing policies, processes, and procedures.
Ability to work independently and within a team.
