CADD Designer

Curia provides global contract research and manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
The Engineering Department is responsible for providing routine planned maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
The department also provides facility engineering and maintenance upkeep.
Engineering develops departmental plans, Capital Projects and reports.
The department also provides record management of all facility issues including drawings and history reports of maintenance and maintenance logs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Develop project drawings using AutoCAD software and maintains a library of project drawings Develop and implement standards, policies and procedures for a CADD system including methods for the management of CADD files relating to the creation, standardization, modification, archival, intra and intersystem transfer and plotting of files Assist in all phases of CADD operations and use of engineering software related to CADD operations and electronic file management Assist professional engineers in the development of plans and projects, and performs related work as required or assigned Operate and maintain drafting software, files and databases Prepare and maintain moderately complex to complex engineering drawings using specialized drafting computer software Draft As-Built floor plans from field measurements, P&ID and isometric piping schematics, wiring diagrams and electrical schematics Responsible for management of engineering documents; Turnover Packages, O&M Manuals, Engineering Specifications, Design Documents for capital projects in progress, management of drawing numberings system, equipment numbering system and CADD standard Generates creative solutions; Translates concepts and information into images; Uses feedback to modify designs; Applies design principles; Demonstrates attention to detail Ability to work with multiple Xrefs.
Knowledge of layouts (paperspace) Produce architectural, P&ID piping, structural, civil and electrical and control drawings in AutoCAD 2019 or greater Development and understanding of cGMP, validated processes and systems Create, modify / sustain accurate CAD drawings of all documented systems used in the Engineering Department Update and edit of facilities, mechanical ,electrical and structural engineering drawings Assist engineering personnel in completion of mark-up drawings and red-lines Complete Change Control tasks for engineering documentation mark up, changes and update Routine day-to-day drawing management, supply of technical drawings to maintenance personnel Field verification of all process piping systems locations, identification tags, valving, structures for the purpose of accurate identification, location and detail in drawings Field verification of all electrical power distribution system equipment, panel boards and utilization equipment Update field verification of systems and equipment locations, identification tags Other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience: AAS in Computer Aided Design and Drafting Technology or other related technology field Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the computer-aided drafting field or; Minimum of 4 years’ experience, preferably in the field of Mechanical Engineering Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills: Knowledge of AutoCAD 2019 or greater Design software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Knowledge of REVIT is a plus.

Ability to organize time in order to successfully manage multiple projects and priorities.
Ability to read, understand, interpret and implement technical writing and instructions.
Effective inter-personal relation skills, while maintaining the adaptability to achieve company goals.

Able to lift and carry large drawing sets from hanging files.
Knowledge of the standard terminology, techniques and practices of electrical, mechanical, and civil engineering and architectural drafting.

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
Capable of using ladder and safety equipment as required.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock; explosives; risk of radiation and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
