TransCore-Amtech Systems (AMS), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a full-time Test Engineering Technician II to join our team in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Job Summary: Performs preventative maintenance and other repairs on manufacturing and other test equipment as needed.
Supports test engineering design efforts and ensures supporting documentation for existing and new assembly processes is correct.
Creates training documentation as needed for manufacturing equipment.
May be required to directly support manufacturing in assembling products or operating test equipment.
Observes existing manufacturing processes, performs time studies on those operations, and looks for ways to improve those processes while aiding in improving the accuracy of existing labor estimates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Troubleshoots and repairs electronic components, soldering
Detail oriented, analytical, and multitasking
Completes repairs, maintains and/or calibrates equipment.
Reads diagrams, schematics, blueprints and technical manuals for repair and diagnostic information.
Communication and customer service skills
Creates and maintains assembly procedures for company products, as well as writing other supporting documentation for test equipment and fixtures for those products.
Assists manufacturing test engineers with creation, maintenance, and documentation of test fixtures.
Tests faulty equipment and identifies malfunctions.
Performs tests and checks with electronic instruments such as an oscilloscope or spectrum analyzer.
Maintains records of repairs, calibrations and tests.
Repairs electronic and electrical equipment including microprocessor-controlled equipment and computers at the component level using small hand tools, soldering and desoldering equipment.
Required Skills and Experience:
Typically requires a minimum of 2 - 3 years of related experience
Electrical Bent Test Equipment/Instruments
Knowledge of Electronic Circuits/Schematics
Soldering Tech Documentation
Repair skills
Education: One year certificate from college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience.
