Inner child work as part of the Executive Coaching process?! In terms of the work I do with my Founder & CEO clients — it’s an ESSENTIAL piece of the puzzle. Yesterday my dear friend, the brilliant Vienna Pharaon, LMFT and I led a discussion inspired by my coaching practice and her bestselling book, “The Origins of You.” The topic? “Burnout & the Worthiness Wound” We can all agree that burnout is at epidemic levels and ESPECIALLY prevalent in the startup founder community. We know that long hours and high stress are a PART of the puzzle but if those were the *only* causal factors — then even MORE folks would be burnt out… So what’s the missing piece that causes some of us to burnout while others roll with the punches? 🧒🏽👧🏼Conditioning we picked up in childhood. Embracing Non-Judgment: A Lifelong Journey Yesterday, I had the pleasure of meeting a truly inspiring coach Claudia Cimenti for the first time. Our conversation was nothing short of enlightening, touching on various aspects of personal growth and the challenges we face. One topic that stood out was the art of non-judgment, a skill that is as vital as it is difficult to master. In a world where judgment comes swiftly and often without full understanding, striving to remain non-judgmental is a noble endeavor. The irony of life is that no matter what we do, people will always have opinions. They will judge regardless of our actions or choices. This realization brings a certain freedom: if judgment is inevitable, then we might as well embrace our true selves and live authentically. We both acknowledged the immense difficulty of staying in a non-judgmental space. It requires constant self-awareness and the ability to catch ourselves when biases and preconceived notions creep in. This is not an easy task, and it takes a lot of practice and patience. Kudos to those coaches who have mastered this skill. Their ability to create a safe, accepting environment for their clients is invaluable. They serve as a beacon of understanding and empathy in a world that often feels quick to judge. Maintaining non-judgment is a journey, not a destination. It's about striving to be better, to understand more, and to offer compassion. Let's honor those who excel in this and encourage ourselves to cultivate this mindset in our daily lives. After all, a little more non-judgment can go a long way in making the world a more accepting place. #coaching #judgementfree
