📞 ✨CALL TO ACTION 📞 ✨ Today is the final day of #MentalHealthAwareness week and youHQ and EdRuption are on a mission, can you help? Jon Ford reached out to me a few months ago asking for digital support for some schools who are unable to engage in the mental health and wellbeing app because their schools don’t have access to technology or infrastructure to allow its deployment. Of course I said yes…. BUT when I thought about it, it seemed crazy to talk to schools about something they cannot change due to funding and budget. The local authority also cannot help due to their lack of funding and restrictions either - hands are tied. Our education system is failing young people. So EdRuption are on a mission, I reached out to many people, for support and I have been able to get some from ✨the wonderful Al Kingsley who is donating his time, ✨Meshii WiFi who are AMAZING and are hosting a webinar for the schools next week on their next steps for this FREE access to WiFi for them, ✨Edge Computing who are offering to review and support the buy back of old outdated technology as well as support in ways to get hold of refurbished devices We also hope to leverage Primary Goal once we have everything in place to build capacity. We have reached out to The Prince's Trust & Agilico who have grants and funding which we hope to apply for and gain. BUT There are more pots out there.. I know I’ve been told, some since Covid have closed down (ironically due to lack of funding) EdRuption is helping to build the individual school strategies… including parent out reach to bridge the gaps we have in our parent cohorts knowledge! But we need more pots! We have to educate everyone to support our #digitalNatives become strong healthy adults… no matter their postcode! We can battle the effects of poor digital use with structure, support and strategy - in schools digital health starts with a strong digital strategy built on vision, safeguarding and pedagogy. It is our job to educate.
