Inside for now is a collection of piano improvisations. They are a result of the emotions, thoughts and gestures that came from about an hour in front of the piano. It is an embrace of the spontaneous - with all its rawness and imperfections - over the cerebral and refined. Lately I've found myself longing for the former, whilst feeling stuck in the latter.

These fleeting and unrehearsed songs reveal that no moment is without significance. Personally, it's a glimpse into a usually private activity of just playing. Figuring out, building forms, making turns, knowing but not knowing.

It was recorded in The Otways on a warm afternoon with the windows open. Birds chattering in the distance. At different times throughout, a sleeping dog can be heard snoring.
