About us

We have the largest network of branches in Zambia with representation in all the 10 provinces. Established in 1968, ZSIC GI Limited initially operated as the Zambia State Insurance Corporation. With the revision of the Insurance Act in 1997, the Zambia State Insurance Corporation Limited underwent a restructuring and compliance exercise. Subsequently, ZSIC GI was one of the entities under ZSIC Limited, the initial Holding Company. In March 2017, IDC assumed the role of the holding company which lead to the dissolution of ZSIC Holdings. ZSIC General Insurance is the ultimate choice for Business, Home, Agricultural or Motor Vehicle insurance.

  • Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP) Payout Ceremony This morning, the Insurance Consortium handed over payments worth over K809 million to the Ministry of Agriculture for the 2023/2024 crop losses incurred by farmers under the Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP) Of this amount, ZSIC General Insurance Limited has paid over K214 million. During the cheque handover ceremony held at the Mulungushi International Conference Center, ZSIC GI Acting Managing Director Conrad Sichande noted the importance of insurance in securing the livelihoods of farmers and the nation. In his address, the Minister of Agriculture Reuben Mtolo appreciated the work done by insurance companies to compensate farmers who had little or no yields due to the drought. He however called on farmers to help the disbursement process by availing sufficient contact details.

  • Team-building - Southern Region Over the weekend, we held a team building session for staff members running our branches in Southern Province, namely Mazabuka, Choma and Livingstone. Team-building activities align with our mission statement, which aims to provide customer-oriented services through motivated staff. Director of Finance and Administration Sidney Chikuta along with Deputy Director People Experience Chileshe Mubanga, affirmed management's desire to make the work environment inspiring for members of staff as this will assist ZSIC GI achieve its targets. Acme Training Institute led by Transformational Trainer, Master Chimbala conducted the team-building session in Livingstone.

  • First Prize - Most Innovative Financial Education Programme We are proud to have been awarded the First Prize in the Most Innovative Financial Education Programme.   • Today, ZSIC General Insurance entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC). The MOU will allow ZSIC General Insurance to insure assets procured by the Commission for various empowerment programs. Speaking during the MOU signing ceremony in Lusaka today, ZSIC General Acting Managing Director Sylvia Nguluwe said the partnership will allow the sustainability of empowerment initiatives run by the CEEC and ultimately contribute to national development. She disclosed that so far, ZSIC GI is processing 20 claims out of the 142 vehicles insured under the CEEC Own a Taxi, Mini-bus, and Light Truck project. Of these, over K300,000 has been paid in compensation. The CEEC Director General, Dr Muwe Mungule, said the MOU was long overdue and critical in sustaining the Commission's empowerment projects.
