The Zambia Qualifications Authority Act No. 8 of 2024: here are three (3) key takeaways: First, the Act reaffirms the Zambia Qualifications Authority’s (ZAQA) role in education in Zambia and mandates the implementation of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) to standardise and recognise educational qualifications both locally and internationally. Second, the Act makes it mandatory for employers and institutions to verify applicants’ qualifications before hiring or enrolling individuals. Non-compliance could result in monetary and custodial penalties.
