For all the South African Skills Development Providers. Directive on the Implementation and Transitional Arrangements for pre-2009 Qualifications. Conclusion: 6.1 These arrangements are not a collapse of the education and training system, but rather relates to 374 of the almost 9000 qualifications registered on the NQF (approximately 4%). 6.2 These arrangements only link to 18 of the 21 SETAs, (85%) who should be working closely with the QCTO and SAQA to ensure transition. 6.3 These arrangements are part of a process to transition into new, relevant occupational learning that develops appropriate skills for the current context, which has arguably changed significantly since the pandemic in 2020. 6.4 None of these objections to the expiry of pre-2009 qualifications are educational issues and should therefore be dealt with in other spaces. 6.5 No learner will be prejudiced if the system implements a managed transition away from qualifications that are now over 15 years old. On the contrary, learners may finally be given access to learning that is current and of high quality. #SDP #Qualifications #SETA #Learning

Employment News : According to Stats SA, the official unemployment rate decreased from 33,5% in the second quarter of 2024 to 32,1% in the third quarter of 2024. The largest employment gains were recorded in Community and Social Services (194 000), Construction (176 000) and Trade (109 000), while the largest employment losses were recorded in Finance (189 000) and Private Households (32 000). RECOVERIES MANAGER DURBAN Key Responsibilities • Monitor the consultants to ensure that the team achieves all targets set by follow up of individual performance targets. • Sign off all client arrangements in line with mandates set by the company. • Manage and lead a team of consultants to achieve agreed targets or goals. • Identify and Implement Key Performance Factors for the team, which must be measurable. • Adherence to internal processes and accuracy • The holding costs of PIP's with regards to maintenance costs and guard fees must be minimized. • Effectively manage the Bad Debt portfolio • Focus on increasing cash flow. Ensure that all steps in the recovery process have been adhered to. • Effectively manage Sell Assist / Marketing & Private offers with shortfalls/losses • Ensure quick turnaround times for Sell Assist properties, Marketing instructions & offers received with shortfalls. Ensure valuations are updated and correct. Check loss calculations & motivations are correct. • Focus on increasing cash flow and minimizing legal fees. South Africa has strengthened its child maintenance enforcement by linking it to the credit system. Under the new laws, failing to pay child maintenance can now affect a person's credit record. The system works through collaboration between government and credit bureaus. When parents default on maintenance payments, their information is shared with credit providers. These providers must now factor in existing maintenance obligations when reviewing credit applications. This makes it more difficult for defaulters to obtain new credit. While this approach aims to ensure children receive their entitled financial support and encourage better payment compliance, it also presents some challenges. Critics worry about privacy implications and potential negative impacts on low-income parents. Those already facing financial difficulties might struggle even more to access credit for basic needs if their maintenance payment history affects their credit record.
