SADC INDUSTRIALIZATION WEEK I attended the 2nd day of the SADC industrialization week together with other government ministers. We were led by Dr CGDN Chiwenga, the Vice President of the Republic of Zimbabwe. As the ICT minister, I was in attendance, representing our nation’s commitment to harnessing digital technologies for industrial advancement. During the session discussions the Vice President highlighted the critical role that ICT plays in modernising industries, enhancing productivity and driving economic growth. He said, “ICT and innovation are the conrnerstones of industrial transformation. By integrating technology advanced technologies into our industrial processes, we can leapfrog traditional development stages and achieve rapid, sustainable growth” A lot is going to be discussed this week and the outcomes will be used by policy makers to shape the future of industrialization in the SADC. #SADC #digitaleconomy #industrialization

The challenge I see with most ICT professionals is the failure to bridge the gap from being technical to business . The narrative that ICT is a cost center should be changed and replaced with the fact that ICT is an enabler and bring value and the proposition well communicated . [in College News] The Letaba TVET College Engineering students at Maake Campus showcase their skills during the career exhibition at Lenyenye Stadium outside Tzaneen in Limpopo. Students advised learners from local high schools to consider educational opportunities offered by TVET colleges This is because they will not only learn the theoretical part of their academics but will also be taught how to do the practical. TVET colleges bridging the skills gapin an effort to fight the high unemployment rate in the country, and to bridge the inequality gap in various social classes, the government is encouraging learners to consider enrolling with TVET colleges as an alternative to traditional universities. The government wants more young people to attain skills and competencies that will help them find jobs or create their own enterprises as artisans. Week 19 Reflection Name: Nsidibeobong Udoh Fellow ID: FE/23/42219473 Cyber security Cohort 2 For my Week 19 reflection, I chose a task of securing my personal email account, a manageable challenge to complete within a day. My goal was to reduce vulnerability to unauthorized access by strengthening account security, a crucial aspect of cyber security. To tackle this, I applied two essential skills from my cyber security program: multi-factor authentication (MFA) and password management. First, I enabled MFA, adding an extra layer of verification whenever I logged in. Then, I updated my password to a strong, unique one using a password manager. These tools were straightforward yet effective in boosting my account's defenses. The outcome was immediate and reassuring. I received alerts whenever a login was attempted, giving me control over my account's access.
