Interesting times that we are living in, where business has become territorial. Small-Medium Companies in SA are facing a rather strange predicament, where you are BLOCKED from doing Business in other areas/provinces. Gauteng based Companies can't go to Limpopo for an example, because the locals there would not allow for their "bread to be taken out of our mouths". While the Big enterprises are having a free pass, rightfully so. The strangest part is that the "Blockers" are also running small-medium size companies. Which ultimately means that they will be fighting over crumbs for close to eternity. Which than means that they will remain a small-medium size company. Well In that case, I guess I run a massive Corporation. 😀

“Leveraging industrialisation as a growth engine requires proactive, dynamic thinking and policies tailored to the country’s unique context and constraints. Success hinges on political will, appropriate incentives and the government’s ability to collaborate with the private sector to identify and seize opportunities that create an environment where firms and sectors can thrive.” The above two paragraphs quote from the attached article. Having just returned from a week in South Korea that included visiting a few of their industrial zones I was left with the overwhelming impression that all the above apply and are working. Solid skills and R&D support, clear focus areas, long-term commitment and policy certainty have been key elements of Korea’s success. That is a broad generalisation. I would argue that after ten years since the South African SEZ Act was promulgated the policy and strategy needs a review and renewed focus. We need to learn from experience so far and hone in on where and how SEZs can support industrialisation. As a greentech focused zone, the South African Renewable Energy Masterplan (SAREM) offers a solid frame for focus and action. #SAREM Atlantis Special Economic Zone for Green Technologies

SA Energy Ltd Important post.......!!!!!! Installing solar panels on a roof, particularly in wet conditions, poses several dangers that must be communicated clearly to clients. Slippery Surfaces: Roofs become extremely slippery when wet, increasing the risk of falls. Wet shingles or tiles offer significantly less traction compared to dry conditions, making it more difficult for workers to maintain their footing. Even with safety gear, the likelihood of slipping is considerably higher. Electrical Hazards: Installing solar panels involves handling electrical components and wiring, which is particularly dangerous in wet conditions. Water is a conductor of electricity, and any exposure to moisture can increase the risk of electric shock or short circuits. This not only endangers the installers but can also damage the equipment. Structural Risks: Wet weather can obscure potential hazards on the roof, such as weak spots or areas with damage. This can lead to unexpected structural failures, increasing the risk of accidents. Additionally, water can weaken the integrity of the roof over time, making it less stable for work. Reduced Visibility: Rain and wet conditions can reduce visibility, making it harder for workers to see and avoid hazards. This can lead to missteps and accidents, especially when navigating complex roof structures. Tools and Equipment Safety: Many tools used in the installation of solar panels are not designed to be used in wet conditions.
