This is an ad break to take a moment to appreciate our extraordinary team. Yes, they are weird, wacky and wonderful - but beyond that, they truly know how to get things done. Year ends are always crazy, as we push the limits to make sure we tie up the loose ends of the year that was, and start weaving the beginnings of the year to come. It is safe to say that 2025 is already looking profoundly exciting, and we can't wait to take you along with us on the journey. Team Umuzi, we're relentlessly proud of the work you constantly put in to ensure our organisation continues to move the needle. You do it with a smile (or something vaguely similar) on your face - and we absolutely love that! Shoutout to you, shoutout to us. *This is just a small sample of our expanding team, but they summarise us well. 😉

  • 🗣️ November is Men's Mental Health Awareness Month, and to close the month off, we want to drive a meaningful and impactful conversation around this. Men's mental health has been a significant issue for years, with many facing unique challenges that often go unspoken. 🌍 Every day, countless men face struggles that can feel overwhelming, with one life lost to suicide approximately every 80 minutes. Many men—around 6 in every 10—report experiencing trauma in their lives.Tragically, men are significantly more likely to die by suicide, with rates 3.5 times higher than women; these numbers highlight a need for urgent action and support. At the heart of this issue is our shared commitment to preventing premature loss and creating spaces where men feel empowered to seek help and support. 🎙️ We would like to invite you to our first-ever Men's Mental Health Panel Discussion, where we will be talking through some of the stigmas surrounding the key pillars of men's health. SAP Educate to Employ Program Exactly a Year ago we were at SAP for the Educate to Employ program in partnership with Umuzi.org and UNICEF. Funny story is that little did we know that we will move from being total strangers to what we are now. I met really amazing individuals not only from South Africa 🇿🇦 but Nigeria 🇳🇬 and Kenya 🇰🇪 as well. When we onboarded for block 2 😂😂😂 on the 27th of November 2023 we were amazed to hear that there’s one guy “Ayomiplenty” who is almost done with block 2 that time the Logistics associate stream had 752 hours of course work to be covered 🥴🥹 crazy right. I had Itumeleng Shange and Glen, bothering me during the day about some work and assignments that we never understood yet they knew I was using Night Surfer data from my sister to get through this but I still showed up for them 😭😭 Glen and I used to stay up late to cover some course content and Fridays we would be miserable because they would email us our progress reports haibo it wasn’t nice Umuzi.org 😂😂 We spent our 2023 December with sleepless nights, we didn’t even have a mere 2 minutes with our families. I would legit call up Anele Chulayo, Wandile Nyilenda, Mxolisi Wiseman Zondo, Philani Msibi , Itumeleng Shange and Glen to check up on their progress and we would push each other to keep going. Later Reaobaka Komane joined the squad and most of us were done with block 2 work, March 2024 I had to relocate to Cape Town 😭😭🥴 and the start of block 3 was so stressful because i had to juggle that and work. But these guys came through for me, always checking in and making sure that I’m pushing the content. I would bother Freedah Mlambo, Sarah Lawson, Rivoningo Crystal Maphophe and Kennedy Kinyua with questions and a way forward when I didn’t understand other content on our learning path. Came exam time 😂😂😂 again I was the one pushing these guys to not quit 😂😂😭🥴 that time even myself I felt like giving up. I had people like Nonkululeko Mokoena, Letlotlo Baloyi, Mohau Maroga, Bongani Zondi cheering for me. Even went as far as Wisani Hlangwane sending me crazy redbull supply to keep at it 😅 tough as it was but oh my, this Journey has been incredibly rewarding. To our Kenyan and Nigerian brothers and Sisters that started that exam prep group biggest Thanks 😂😂✌🏽 Ayomi still checks up on me btw and vice versa. To each and every individual that pulled through till the last end Congratulations to us the first Cohort of Educate to Employ Dikeledi Rebecca Masenya (CSCA), Bongiwe Msibi, Nonia Madisa, Kgotso Matuludi we did it fam 🥳🥳🥳🥳 #educatetoemploy #SAP #unicef #SAPTechnologyAssociate
