About us
Welcome to Africa’s most powerful Shared Value business network. The Shared Value Africa (SVA) aims to expand the Shared Value community on the African continent. The Shared Value approach reconnects business success with social progress. The SVAI motivates and engages CEOs, board members, executives, employees and stakeholders through a social purpose tied to the business’s core economic function. Africa has specific needs that cannot be addressed from the outside in; there’s a real need for African-driven solutions to African problems, and Shared Value is the key. For the innovative, forward-thinking business, real growth opportunities can be found in addressing social challenges. Our continent is at a critical crossroads. The twenty-first century can be the era when Africa lifts itself out of poverty – if business silos and cross-border barriers can be eliminated. It is imperative that we create a network backed by businesses, both established and start-up, to collaborate, co-operate and engage to build stable, prosperous and sustainable economies, that leave no one behind.

Cycles of violence have far-reaching impacts: ◦ For Victims: Psychological trauma, fear, health complications, and loss of confidence. ◦ In Workplaces: Lower productivity, increased absenteeism, and reputational risks. ◦ In Society: Normalization of violence, economic strain, and long-term harm. Breaking these cycles starts with awareness and targeted action. Together, we can create safer spaces at home, work, and in our communities. #ITSNOTOK #EndGBVF #SupportSurvivors #BreakTheSilence #GenderEquality #16DaysOfActivism #TearsFoundation

During these 16 Days of Activism, we shine a spotlight on the hidden impacts of domestic abuse in the workplace. Abuse isn’t just physical—it extends to sexual, psychological, and economic harm, creating barriers to victims' safety and stability. Here's how abuse manifests and affects professional lives: ◦ Physical Abuse: Visible injuries or threats from an abusive partner can undermine an employee’s ability to function at work. ◦ Sexual Abuse: Unwanted advances or harassment by an intimate partner create distress and emotional upheaval in the workplace. ◦ Psychological Abuse: Manipulation or threats lead to anxiety, trauma, and reduced productivity. ◦ Economic Abuse: Financial control strips victims of independence, sometimes forcing job loss. Abuse often unfolds in patterns, with minor acts escalating into devastating outcomes. Supporting victims and raising awareness is critical to fostering safe and equitable workplaces. What can you do? 💡 Offer a Listening Ear – Support those affected and guide them to resources. 💡 Advocate for Change – Raise awareness and challenge harmful behaviors. 💡 Create Safe Spaces – Ensure workplace policies prioritize victim safety and well-being. Join us in saying #ITSNOTOK to any form of abuse—because everyone deserves a life free from harm. Learn more about our tailored programs to combat GBV and promote gender equality through research, training, and consulting. #EndGBVF #SupportSurvivors #BreakTheSilence #GenderEquality #16DaysOfActivism #TearsFoundation
