An opportunity to spend time with friends and family, this week, the #BetwaySquad spent a morning with the wonderful team from #HeadwayGauteng who assist adult survivors with acquired brain injuries, the #BetwayAmbassadors joined in on the discussions, chatting to the patients (many of them football fans) and listening to their stories. • Johan Cruyff believed in the endless power of sport and its influence on the development of the youth. #Betway is a brand that is committed to giving back through various initiatives from our solar-driven water projects in KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumalanga, support of the Mitchell’s Plain Music Academy, the Orlando multipurpose facility, cleanup projects in Soweto and our #Betway12thman initiative which assists former athletes to create a career path after sport, we are determined to make a difference and a sustainable impact on South Africa. As proud title sponsors of the #BetwayPremiership, the #BetwaySA20 and through our association with the Springboks and #BetwaySummerCup, sport is entrenched in our DNA and an integral part of our business, that is why we are always looking for ways to get involved in projects that involve sports development that benefits the next generation in their journey in sport either as a career or for pure enjoyment and connectedness in their communities. Well done to Rhiza Babuyile Johan Cruyff Foundation for the tremendous work around South Africa and for this project in Orange Farm. #BetwayCares #Givingback

  • The Clara Bagdadi village is an hour’s drive from Hoedspruit in Mpumalanga and up until now has faced a major water crisis. The community’s only access to water has been through polluted streams and ponds shared with livestock who frequent the rural part of the South African province. Members of the community had to walk many kilometres to find those open sources of water, often having to fear for their own safety while making the trek, water-borne diseases also reduced the quality of water and left many people sick. In November of this year, Betway Africa, through the Betway Cares Foundation, in conjunction with Innovation Africa, provided a water system for the village, powered by solar, the water from the project can service 4700 residents. T his is the third water project Betway Africa has contributed to including the Matshamhlophe village and KwaDenge village in KwaZulu-Natal, each costing over R1.5m. This forms part of Betway Africa’s commitment to uplift the lives of South Africans, providing them with the most basic of needs and improving their lives. Betway Africa’s Nomvelo Buthelezi, “We as Betway Africa believe that every South African should have access to quality drinking water and for us as a brand to play our part in providing this community with clean water is truly special, we will continue to make a difference where ever we can in the rainbow nation and hope to do many more initiatives like this one with Innovation Africa in 2025 and beyond.” #BetwayCaresFoundation #BWCares #InnovationAfricaWaterProjects #GivingbacktoSouthAfrica
