At Afraceuticals, our commitment to healing goes beyond our products - it extends to the very earth we rely on. As a proud member of 1% for the Planet, we actively engage in projects that resonate with our mission to reconnect people with the planet. We don't just fund causes; we immerse ourselves in these initiatives, with our staff playing integral roles. A cause close to our hearts is the conservation of the African bearded vulture, a species teetering on the brink of extinction. With only 350 remaining, urgent action is essential to safeguard their habitat in the Maluti-Drakensberg mountains of South Africa and Lesotho. Through our partnership with the Bearded Vulture Conservation Project, we not only provide long-term funding but actively engage in on-the-ground initiatives. We implement projects in the regions where we source our Pelargonium Sidoides roots, focusing on biodiversity regeneration and socioeconomic development to ensure the preservation of these majestic birds' habitat. But we're not alone in this endeavour - we're proud to collaborate with Quin Clark (Biodiversity, Sustainability & Technical Integration Project Manager of Afraceuticals, and Founder of Indlovu Aerial Trust), in developing remote monitoring systems and vulture feeding sites to aid in their rejuvenation. And we're thrilled to announce that our distribution partners, B Ingredients in Canada and the United States, share our dedication to environmental conservation through their own subscription to 1% for the Planet. Their generous funding of the latest bearded vulture nesting camera will significantly enhance our monitoring and protection efforts. In this latest project, our team ventured into the heart of the Maluti-Drakensberg mountains, hiking, rocking climbing and even travelling by horse to visit a bearded vulture nest and set up a live stream camera.
