Converting Diesel Refrigeration to Solar & Electric Our solar-powered refrigeration solution is an independent system with no integration into the vehicle's existing systems. All vehicle and Thermo King OEM warranties remain unaffected. The system primarily relies on an electric motor, with diesel as a backup, and solar energy charges a 48V Lithium Phosphate battery. Inverters convert this energy to 3-phase 400V for the Thermo King refrigeration unit, powering the entire electric system of the vehicle. Key Benefits of the Mobius System -Independent System: No interference with normal vehicle operations, retaining existing refrigeration units without affecting vehicle warranties. -Modular Design: All battery and electronic components are modular, allowing easy replacements and compatibility across Thermo King units, reducing downtime and improving efficiency. -Permanent Backup: The diesel engine is used as a backup in cases where battery or solar power is insufficient, ensuring no spoiled loads—a crucial metric for fleet owners. -All-Electric Capability: The system supports the entire electric infrastructure of the vehicle, including the tail lift and other electronics, allowing the vehicle to be completely powered down at depots.

One of our client's refrigerated trucks has delivered incredible performance results over the last month: Total hours of operation: 372 hours Electric hours: 340 hours (with solar contributing to 180 hours!) Diesel hours: Just 32 hours That's less than 10% of operation on diesel, and more than 50% of electrical energy directly from solar.
