Boogertman + Partners is excited to share our nearly completed project, The One, a mixed-use residential development envisioned as a striking addition to Stellenbosch. Seamlessly blending with the contemporary vernacular of its mature, tree-lined townscape, its design pays homage to the historic village’s original rectangular grid and characteristic “werf,” thoughtfully preserving the architectural heritage of the area. Embracing the traditional patterns of Stellenbosch, the structure closely engages with the streetscape, enclosing and shaping inviting public spaces. This approach not only honours the site’s historical essence but also breathes life into a dynamic, interactive streetscape, fostering a vibrant sense of place. Prioritizing pedestrians and cyclists, the streetscape is free from the dominance of car parking, with residents’ parking discreetly tucked away from view, ensuring a harmonious and people-focused environment.
