Beryl offers a unique content grid layout that’s perfect for photo-heavy blogs. All posts are neatly collated at 250px, and every fifth post is enlarged at 520px. Personalise it further by picking from eight custom title font options, your blog icon, navigation style, and more!

Topbar

The topbar is the fixed navigation bar at the top of the blog.

• Pick a unique cappuccicons blog icon that represents you by following this tutorial.
• Cool quote / phrase next to the blog icon.
• Tumblr controls (follow/reblog post/edit/etc) are flushed right of this topbar. Tumblr controls can be black, grey or white.

Header & Blog Info

• Upload a portrait image. It is automatically cropped and resized to be 1:1 ratio.
• Try not to make your description too short, or too long, I think it looks best with 2-3 lines.
• Your blog pages and links are added here. This theme supports built-in pages, so you can follow this tutorial to find out how to add them.
• Two navigation styles, detailed below under theme options.

Posts & Content

• Grid layout, where all posts are resized/cropped to square 250px size.
• The 1st, 6th, and 11th posts are enlarged to 520px size.
• Like, reblog, and permalink link icons available on index on hover. Permalink icon is the post type. 
• All post types are supported and uniquely-styled. Audio posts can be played from index, and links in link posts can be accessed via the permalink overlay. Chat posts and answere posts are styled to look like chat message dialogue bubbles.

Footer

• User avatar and years active (i.e, Est. 2013-2021) are shown.
• Social media icon links are flushed right, with support for Instagram, Twitter, Ko-fi, Spotify, Etsy, and Tumblr. 

Image Options

• Favicon: This is the little icon on the browser tab. To upload your own custom favicon, you must first enable the Custom Favicon toggle option.
• Header Portrait: The square user image in the header; it will be cropped and resized to fit the 1:1 ratio.

On/Off Toggles

The text in brackets indicate if the toggle was turned on or off in this live preview blog.

• Custom Favicon (on): Enable if you want to upload a custom favicon.
• Blog Text Navigation (off): When off, the blog navigation (index / ask / archive) will be represented by a block of navigation icons to the left of the header portrait. When on, this block is gone, and the links will be added to right before the custom links. See below screenshot.

• Enlarged Posts (on): When on, the 1st, 6th, and 11th posts will be enlarged to 520px (Recommended to also enable either 5, 10, or 15 posts per page). When off, all posts are 250px size (Recommended to enable 8 or 12 posts per page). See below screenshot.

• Light Permalink Overlay (on): When on, the overlay when you hover over posts on the index page will be light, with black text. The lightbox when you open photosets will be light too. When off, the overlay and photoset lightboxes will be dark, with white text.
• Blockquote Reblog Chain (on): When on, reblog chains will show a blockquote (right in the screenshot below). When off, there will be no blockquote (left in the screenshot below).
