Kim Kardashian West Puts a New Twist on This Tricky Shoe 

This morning, Kim Kardashian West made an appearance on Good Morning America in New York City. The star hit the Manhattan streets in a monochromatic look, a signature aesthetic of hers: the outfit consisted of a latex-y yellow turtleneck tucked into a brighter, looser skirt, complete with a sexy side slit. But when it came time for accessories, Kardashian West forwent a traditional winter shoe in favor of a trickier footwear style. (Did you really expect her to wear a sensible ankle boot?)

Kardashian West revived her favorite summer style for the occasion: the flip-flop heel. Her new pair, by Bottega Veneta, made the polarizing shape even more daring with a square toe sole and an eye-catching metallic gold finish. Square toe sandals were a huge trend this summer, partly thanks to this wildly popular Bottega design, but Kardashian West is clearly making the case for defying the seasons and carrying it on through the winter. And while the strappy heel may not be fit for a snowstorm, it’s an alluring piece even on a chilly February morning—just perhaps try switching into them once you arrive to a party.
