Mona Patel Celebrates Couture for Cause With a Dinner Party in the Clouds
Last night, New York’s fashion set toasted Couture for Cause. Led by Mona Patel, the non-profit organization encourages the industry’s most influential figures and brands to help support women and girls worldwide. Born and raised in India, Patel built Couture for Cause with a passion to break the patriarchal pressure she experienced by inspiring young women in developing countries to dream big. Since its conception, the charity has transformed the lives of over 4,000 girls by providing access to higher education and healthcare resources.
Patel put on a fabulous fête at the Lower East Side’s Public Hotel to mark Couture for Cause’s next chapter: Couture 50. Ezra William, McKenna Hallam, Noa Fisher, Timo Weiland, and other elegant attendees gathered over caviar and crudité. Other light fare like an expansive mezze spread, crab cake bites, and tuna tartare wraps were offered to guests during the buzzy cocktail hour.
Surrounded by panoramic views of Manhattan in a dining room set high in the sky, guests—including design stars Jonathan Cohen, Alejandra Alonso Rojas, and Jameel Mohammed—enjoyed a delicious dinner. Gorgeous floral bouquets filled with parrot tulips and peonies by Ivie Joy dressed the candlelit table where personal boxes of MarieBelle chocolates sat at each guests’ place setting for a sweet treat. Excited to catch up with fashion folk and chat about upcoming holiday plans, guests mingled until the late evening before bidding the night adieu. If last night’s affair was any indication of Patel’s path for success, we’re eager to see what Couture for Cause does next!
