Jessel Taank is debunking fan theories that she had work done between her first two seasons on The Real Housewives of New York City.
“I think that when you’re in reality TV, it’s so natural to be like, ‘Oh, she got plastic surgery or she did this or she’s on Ozempic,’” Taank, 45, exclusively told Us Weekly at Hayu FanFest in London. “I actually f—ing hate Ozempic. I would never put needles in myself.”
Taank further revealed why she likely got criticism to the contrary.
“I think it’s just the natural reaction to people who make positive change, physically or otherwise,” she stated.
The fashion publicist also detailed that it can be difficult to receive an onslaught of online hate and backlash.
“Obviously social media and that sort of wave of overwhelming feedback, it can be quite harsh at times,” Taank said. “I learned to block it out and I actually think these people are really funny because some of the stuff they say is so insane.”
She added, “Now, I actually just laugh at the comments and I read all of them and I’m like, ‘Oh, I’m so sorry that you’re so sad.’”
Taank was one of the new Housewives to receive an apple when Bravo rebooted RHONY season 14 alongside Erin Lichy, Ubah Hassan, Sai de Silva, Brynn Whitfield and Jenna Lyons. They all returned for season 15, which is currently airing on Bravo. Many fans have also applauded Taank’s authenticity and sense of humor.
“I think it’s because I’m funny and who doesn’t want someone who’s funny?” she told Us. “I really do think that and, by the way, I bring the looks. Funny and fashion has always been my thing.”
The RHONY ladies were also joined by art curator Racquel Chevremont and fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff this season.
“Rebecca’s a dear friend,” Taank added. “She’s a good person.”
