George Clooney
Before becoming one of the most admired actors of his generation, George Clooney got his big break as Dr. Doug Ross on the NBC medical drama ER. He earned two Emmy nominations and three Golden Globe nominations for the role.
Clooney went on to star in numerous hit films, becoming a distinguished leading man and Hollywood heartthrob. His credits include From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Out of Sight (1998), The Perfect Storm (2000), O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000), Ocean’s Eleven, Twelve and Thirteen (2001, 2004 and 2007), Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009), The Descendants (2011), Gravity (2013) and Tomorrowland (2015).
Clooney made his directorial debut with 2002’s Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. He directed 2005’s Good Night, and Good Luck, which he also starred in and produced, before directing Leatherheads (2008), The Ides of March (2011), The Monuments Men (2014), The Tender Bar (2021) and The Boys in the Boat (2023).
He has racked up two Academy Awards, a BAFTA Award, four Golden Globe Awards and four Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards. He was honored with the AFI Life Achievement Award in 2018 and was among those celebrated at the Kennedy Center Honors in 2022.
In 1989, Clooney married Talia Balsam, but the pair divorced three years later. He moved on with Kimberly Russell, Celine Balitran, Krista Allen and Lisa Snowdon. In June 2011, he split from Italian model Elisabetta Canalis after two years of dating.
Clooney started dating WWE’s Stacy Keibler in July 2011, but they split in July 2013. Clooney married human rights lawyer Amal Clooney in September 2014, and the pair welcomed twins Alexander and Ella in June 2017.
